I would just cancel and be done. If for some reason she reaches out to ask why, you can tell her. But chances are, she won't hear you. I agree with this. I would want to tell her why, but she probably wouldn't be receptive to hearing they why of it.

Do I tell her why I'm leaving or do I just cancel my next appointment and never reschedule? I think it is time to find a new hair dresser. I would cancel my next appointment and find another stylist. You do not owe her an explanation as to why you are leaving.

I'd have to leave and find someone new.

I would just cancel and move along.
If you try and tell her why, she's going to play the persecuted for my faith game. Why give her that pleasure?

maybe go in with earphones on and tell her you have to listen to an important audio file you can pull them out after 10 mins and test the waters if she starts up again, say oh well, back to my important audio file

UGG. I've spent the most PAINFUL year trying to find a stylist as good as my last chick. I loved her. But she found a desk job.
I've been all over the town and no one cuts my weird ass hair as good.
I think I'd have to suck it up and convert if I were you!

Does she repeat the same story to every client of the day for weeks on end? Sounds like she just like to hear herself talk. I would interrupt and tell her a story of your own, whatever happened to you that week, your kids, housework, whatever. Force her to listen to you. Every hairdresser I've ever been to revolves the conversation around me until I ask them questions.
You should be frank and say "you know I love the way you do my hair, and as a friend I wanted to tell you that you might be losing 10 customers with all this God talk. I don't want to name names, but lots of people have mentioned to me they're unhappy with listening to it."
