Have you seen this recipe floating around on Facebook and Pinterest lately? It's on a blog called Kevin & Amanda, and I think she used to be a pea. PULLED PORK RECIPE
Well, I'm here to tell you that it's as AMAZING as it looks! OMG. I took a gamble and made 12 pounds of pulled pork using this recipe for the picnic we're having at our house today. It's delicious! Did I say how AMAZING it is? I cannot wait for everyone to get here and chow down!

That looks marvelous! I wonder how it would be cooked on a smoker? Mmmmm.. Looks good the way it is though.
Did you make any changes or have any other tips?

She was a Pea. She used to make fonts out of people's handwriting.

I have used her recipe for years, and yes she was a Pea. I have changed it a bit over the years. Sometimes I don't brine it, I just put the dry rub on it, cut slits in the pork roast, and put it in a ziplock bag and sort of let it marinade for the day. Then I put it in the oven, slow and low at 300 for 3 hrs. Or I have also put it in the crock pot. works well both ways.

This sounds delicious.
So what if I brine it today and overnight and then throw it in the crockpot all day tomorrow. We're good right? Since it is cooked on such a low temp I suppose I cook it on low in the crockpot all day? Or high or does it even matter. I have a largish pork roast in the freezer and thinking maybe I should take it out now and get it thawed and start the brining process.

I followed her directions EXACTLY how she wrote them. I even ordered the same meat thermometer she linked.
I used two 6-pound roasts (Costco only had boneless), and cooked them OVERNIGHT in two different tinfoil pans. I soaked in the brine for 24 hours.
They took exactly 15 hours to cook, and then three hours for the meat to cool back down to 170 degrees like she instructed.
It shredded so easily.
GO MAKE IT!

I've been making this for years. I've used the pork butt and also pork tenderloin. And it works well in a crockpot also!
While you are cruising her blog, also check out the blueberry cobbler, her chocolate cake recipe, and her frostings, just to name a few. Amanda is a marvel.

lurkingsince2001 - How long do you put it in your crockpot? Do you add any liquid when you cook it? Thanks!

I remember her on the old board and all the neat fonts she did. I think I still have some of them. I also remember people talking about her pork recipe way back. Maybe it ended up in the pea cookbook. I never looked.

Her baked beans recipe is really very good. It has ground beef and bacon. One time I forgot to add the beans! LOL it was still a solid dish.

I love Amanda too. She also used to work at the most awesome Scrapbook and Stamp store in our town, with has sadly closed with all the others. This is our favorite K&A recipe: I can seriously eat it all myself....I never do, but if I was 20 years younger and 20 #'s lighter, you can bet your butt I would. Spicy Sausage Pasta

I've had this recipe pinned for ages but hadn't made it. Now, I will after your glowing review.
I've made the Spicy Sausage Pasta from Kevin and Amanda. It's really good, too.

Definitely going into the rotation.

I will ditto what danor98 and finaledition and IAmUnoriginal said, Amanda's spicy sausage pasta is delicious and a big winner in my house. As for the pulled pork - it really does look good, but 13 hours to cook?!?! I'm not sure my oven could handle that. The dry rub looks very similar to the recipe that DSO uses, but he doesn't brine it. We just chuck the chunk of meat into the slow cooker for about 6 hours on low and it turns out perfectly every time. She has so many fabulous recipes. I'm glad you posted this because it's a good reminder to have another look at her blog.

I've made her pulled pork before. I see her on my FB feed and everything I've ever made from her site, whether hers or what she's shared, has been very good. I make the cookie dough cupcakes a lot, they are often requested by family and friends.

Amanda is not just a good cook and an amazing photographer and blogger, but she is a super sweet person. I only "knew" her through 2 Peas, but she offered to help me with some formatting of my blog and worked with me for quite a while to get it set up so that it looked great. This was at a time that she was just building her blog and I'm sure she was busy trying to manage all of that, but she selflessly spent time helping me. The Bacon Cheeseburger Chicken recipe is one of our favorites.
