We're planning to move there sometime in the next 4 to 8 months. As I dejunk prior to moving, I am struggling with downsizing my stash because it seems like there are few if any LSS left anywhere, and I may not be able to rebuild my stash. I know the two LSS that were in/near Keller are gone.
Are there any LSS in the area? Stamp stores? Paper Arts stores? If so, can you tell me what towns or areas they are in, please?

I live about 90minutes from Dallas and I have shopped at two stores there in the past year since we've moved here. Stamp Asylum is in Plano and is what I consider a very traditional grunge Tim Holtz stamp store. I love going there. They have classes and support all kinds of paper crafting. I've been there three times and each time has been a pleasure. The have clear stamps but they Rock the wood mounted stamps as well and that's important to me. I prefer wood.
There's a store called Personal Scrapbook in Allen that is more of a place to crop than a store. I've been once and have no plans to return. I happened to go on a day when there was a rather large number of croppers in the crop area and the door is located in the crop area which means that when you enter, it feels like everyone turns to look at you. It's a very awkward layout and the selection of product is very limited. Basically, it's about 90% patterned paper and ten percent other. The product area is much smaller than the crop space.and the woman running the place when I was there was cropping. She let me stand at the check out for a long while because she was finishing up a layout. And there was almost no cardstock at all, which I consider scandalous.
There is also The Crafty Scrapper down in Waxahatchie. I love that place but it's a bit of a drive. Really outstanding store...very creative people and good classes. They have everything!

I think The Little Blue House in Keller is still open...they sell some product, not a lot and they have classes too. A friend has been there several times and loves it.
That's the only LSS in the Tarrant County that I'm aware of....

I thought someone had told me that the Keller stores had all closed. After seeing your post, I looked up the Little Blue House and called. They are indeed still open! I am so glad to know that.
At least the stores mentioned give me some hope. I was worried that I'd be limited to the big box stores.

There is a new store called My Scrap Haven in Frisco - haven't been there (hope to this weekend) Also Big Mouth Scrappers in Forney (east of Dallas) There is a Paper Source store in Northpark mall, they have some scrapping stuff
There used to be a lot of really good stores in the area, but many have closed

I cannot speak highly enough of the Crafty Scrapper in Waxahachie. It's worth the drive from the DFW area. The owner, Carolyn, is awesome, as is her store staff. Amazing place, amazing people. GO you won't be disappointed.

Actually, there is still one in Keller...The Little Blue House on 377/Denton HWY, ( They actually have quite a bit of product! I highly recommend it.) and another in Watauga on Rufe Snow, but I can't remember what it's called because I don't go there often. Those are the only ones close besides the VERY small Personal Scrapper in Plano. They are the ones with not much product, and are more classes based.

I second the motion on this store! I was there in May, and the store has a good mix of new and older product plus great classes. Definitely worth the drive!
Happy scrapping, jamh

Okay, so where is it in relation to where the Scarborough Fair is held? That is the only place I have been to in Waxahachie, and I wish I had known about the scrapping store there, because I would have stopped by after the Fair, even though I was in costume.
Do they have Renaissance Fair embellishments by any chance at that LSS?

BTT. We finally moved to the Dallas/Ft. Worth area, but not to the Keller area as we had expected. Instead, we are closer to Denton.
I have not yet made it to Waxahachie. I have been to the Little Blue House (September) and to My Scrap Haven (yesterday). It was a 30 minute drive to The Little Blue House, and 45 minutes to My Scrap Haven.
Both are small stores, with a very small inventory. I left more than a little disappointed with each store. I bought only about $9 worth of paper at My Scrap Haven, but nothing at The Little Blue House. The Little Blue House had a card class going on, and they were all friendly. My Scrap Haven also had friendly and nice personnel. My Scrap Haven had a lot of empty paper racks. Did they just have "before Christmas sales" or is that the normal state of their store? They had papers I have not seen before, so I assume they are getting in new inventory, but I have not shopped for scrapping supplies in awhile, so I have no way of knowing how recent their paper lines are.
Is The Crafty Scrapper bigger, with more selection? It would take me about an hour to drive there. Is it worth the drive?

The Crafty Scrapper is massive and located on the downtown square in Waxahatchie. They offer many many brands--they have a Tim jolts stamp and die wall that is the most majestic sight to behold! Tons of paper, ribbons, inks, embellishments. I would definitely drive an hour to shop there. And if you love antiques, plan to have lunch and shop the square.
Little Blue House is mostly famous for their class offerings.
My Scrap Haven took most of the year off and re-opened in a new location in October. It's nice to have a store that offers the clean lines like Doodlebug Designs and Simple Stories. The other stores are mostly mixed-media driven. It is a small store though.
If you make it down to Corsicana, there's a store there that is also large and a good place to shop for scrapbook stuff. It's called Scrappin' Goodtime.
Don't bother going to the tiny little store in Waco. I expect them to close any day now.

Did you know that is the area Victoria Marie lives in. I fan girled when I saw another scrapper long ago in a store, I would lose it if I saw her. Although I can keep my fingers crossed. Btw they opened a rather large Tuesday Morning on 380. Some nice shops going in there. I have been to Scrapping Goodtime and they have a great selection. Don't forget Scrapbook Expo is coming the first weekend in April. I live over in Plano. Hope you are liking the area.

My parents just moved to a different state, but I grew up in DFW and they were in Plano from 2010-last month! Legacy and Preston-ish?

I do miss having a good LSS within relatively easy driving distance, though. Not sure where 380 is. I will need to look up that Tuesday Morning. Thanks! I have wondered who else from here lives in the area. However, until I can get my scrapping stash unpacked and my scrap room set up, I can't do much scrapping. Hopefully by the end of January, I will be back to scrapping.

It looks like there is one in Allen, Texas called Personal Scrapbook. It will still be a bit of a drive for me, but an easier one than Crafty Scrapper (although I really DO want to go there one of these days).
Has anyone been to Personal Scrapbook? If so, is it a decent LSS?
Edited to add: never mind. I saw that someone had mentioned it in an earlier post and said it is more a place to crop than LSS. It doesn't sound worth the drive.
I just need to make the drive to Waxahachie. It's more than an hour, though. I keep wishing for a closer LSS.

Make a day of it, take a friend. They've moved onto the square proper in the last few years, it faces the courthouse square. Spend a ton of time in the Crafty scrapper, then walk around the square and go to the antique/boutique shops. There's a really good restaurant just off the square--Dove's Nest maybe?? Ask the ladies at the CS for suggestions of where to have lunch. GO GO GO you won't be disappointed. They carry a TON of Tim Holtz and Maya Road, lots of papers, inks, all kinds of things. GO GO GO.

Because I moved to Texas recently, I only know a couple of other scrapbookers, both of whom work during the week (I'm retired), but I could ask them if they want to go on a Saturday. I agree it would be easier to go with a friend and make it a day's outing.
Not that I need anything. Seriously. But I would love to go there, anyway.

Not sure what part of Dallas you are in but it only took us 45 mins to get from The Crafty Scrapper to Dallas (mid-week day in the afternoon right before traffic hour). It's a huge store with SO MUCH PAPER! The lady there was so nice, too. Hope you get to go there soon.

I'd be at the Crafty Scrapper ALL THE TIME if it wasn't a 5 hour drive (one way!) for me. They do weekend classes sometimes where you can take several and stay over for the weekend. My BFFs and I usually do their November Holiday Journey classes and make a girls' weekend of it.

I'm northwest of Dallas. We have been to Waxahachie for the Renaissance Festival and for a Christmas Bethlehem re-enactment. It takes one hour 15 minutes to get to Waxahachie. I just need to plan a day to go.
Any stamp stores in the Dallas area?
