The print of the snakes that was posted got me thinking about what people hang in their bathrooms.
We just moved (only within the same building) and when it came to hanging things on the wall I asked dh to wait a bit before hanging much of what was hung downstairs. There were a couple of things that he insisted on hanging in the living room and I agreed (our wedding photos which take the whole wall over the couch and there's no other option for placement). I was really surprised when he said he had to hang a picture in the bathroom.
About 19 or so years ago I snapped a photo of my two kids who were then about 1 and 5 years old. They were standing by the bathtub watching the water fill it and I called them from the doorway and snapped the picture when they turned to look at me. DD is in panties and ds is in a diaper. I enlarged it to 11 X 14 and hung it for a bit then dd asked me to take it down so it got packed away for many years. Dh saw it when we went through pictures about 5 years ago and had no idea it was my kids but loved the photo. I put it in a new frame and we had it propped on a shelf over the toilet downstairs. He wanted to hang it on the wall in this apartment so if you're using the toilet it's about all that's available to look at. Is that weird?
I'll have to see if I can get a photo of it and post it.

We've never hung anything in our bathrooms, but I would someday like to have some nude sketches my great-grandmother did when she was in art school copied and framed for our bathroom.
I'm collecting frames for our downstairs powder room, but I haven't decided what to put in them yet!

I snapped a picture of my kids when they were 2 and 1 in the huge bathtub we had overfilled with bubbles. I enlarged it to an 11x14, then hung 2 5x7's on each side of my kids as babies in bubble baths.
My dd is now a teen and would love for me to take them down, but she's ok with them because they are head to toe with bubbles in a tub.

Please don't post a picture of your 5 year old daughter in panties to show us. I get that she is grown up and not identifiable but that stuff could end up anywhere once on the internet.

I don't have any pictures in my bathroom, but a friend likes to hang a world map at eye level right across from the toilet so her family can study it. Different strokes and all.

I feel like bathrooms are rooms you can do something different in than the rest of your home. I don't know why I feel that way, but I do. There's nothing in the upstairs bathroom right now. It is going to be repainted very soon and I want to do something new in there, but I don't know what yet. But I'm thinking I want something calm & beachy feeling in there. The downstairs bathroom has bright floral prints with some dragonfly accents.

Nothing scary! Several bird items, including the clock. A turquoise witches ball on a ribbon hangs in a corner. I need another fairly large print, like maybe 30X30,

Two pictures that I took in Maui. They tie in very well with the colors of the tiles and bring more color into the room.

I currently have some butterfly prints but funny story ... when my oldest DS was about 3, I took him with me when I was shopping for new bathroom decor. We ended up with a hockey themed bathroom (I'm a hockey fan - he didn't get his love from any stranger!). Anyway, later I found one of those wall decals that was a quote by Wayne Gretzky (I think) ... "You miss 100% of the shots you never take." Appropriate, I thought, for a hockey bathroom. Never thought it through any further and put it on the wall over the toilet. The first time my friend came over, she came out of the bathroom laughing really hard at my quote. Yes, in a house full of little boys, I'd say it was a hilariously accurate quote for over the toilet

Towels! During the holidays, I put up a cute Santa picture in a rustic frame. I have my Aunt's antique vanity set that I am planning to put into a shadow box and hang in the bathroom. That will be after the new paint job.

My guest/kids bathroom has a little gallery wall, a bunch of different things but they all go together. I have a few Katie Daisy prints (watercolor nature, flowers, quotes), some vintage pressed flowers in a tiny frame, a really unique preserved boutonnière on a wood plaque, an embroidery hoop with a circle of different colors of embroidered knots, and a small hand painted mirror from Mexico with a moon and a frog on it. Our bedroom bathroom is not decorated right now, but I have a grand scheme to make it into an epic Star Wars bathroom, for my husband's bday gift I love my BIL's bathroom- a bunch of really strange vintage photos and art, love to look at it all! There is a sepia group photo of about 100 people, the photo is about 1 foot tall and 3 feet long. There is also a vintage framed clown face with a light up nose, anatomical paintings of a dog, portrait of Mr. Rogers, and I don't remember what else. Very unique stuff

We have a huge print of purple flowers in a giant gold/metallic frame. The previous owners had it in there and they asked us if we wanted it so they left it for us. I figured it was better than nothing!

My master bedroom and bathroom and closet (we lovingly refer to it as The West Wing) is decorated throughout in a very soothing beach theme. The bathroom has two 20x20 seascape oil paintings.
There's also a ledge with a couple of small snapshots of our feet in the ocean.
Over the towel bar is a letter D.

My bathroom has some prints from an annual festival. I also have a print of my hometown. By the tub, I have a watercolor of a frog in a pond.
The guest bath has some art that I have collected over the years. Many guests comment that it seems more personal than just your average guest space. I Do like art, and also want my home to reflect those who live here.

I have a print of a fancy upholstered chair above the toilet, a collection of prints of my kids when they were babies playing in water on the wall, and a nude I painted above the tub.

There is a metal thing hanging above the toilet. It took us a year to find the right "thing" and it looks great. It is brownish painted metal and it looks good in the bathroom.
The other two bathrooms don't have any real decoration.

our downstairs powder room has a small shelf with southwestern knickknacks; there's a small slate stone shelf that holds a candle; there's two small (4x6, maybe?) prints of the desert- one at sunset, and one with moonlight. It was all gotten over time at various thrift stores... which is the way I like decorating.
Our upstairs guest bath doesn't have much wall space, but it's more garden-themed. There's a 14x14 vintage print of a bowl of flowers that's probably from the 1930s-1940s, and a framed 8x10 sampler I cross-stitched on linen about 25 years ago, now.
Our master bath doesn't have any artwork hanging on the wall at all; there are two huge mirrors, a mirrored closet door, a large window over the tub, and the shower. No wall space at all except what's taken up by the towel rack.

I'm working on a Dr Who Vinyl wall art project. I haven't decided how it's going to go yet if I'm going to frame it when I'm done or just leave it open. We'll see if I'm happy with the project after my shoulder is done. The project is on hold right now.

2 watercolor prints of bluebirds taking a bath in a bird bath
The ostrich print of one ostrich yapping at another.
An ashtray that a long ago cousin made. It is a sensuous Burnett in a pink flowing robe. Something right out of fifties/ sixties. I call her my dirty woman and that is why she is in the bathroom.
I am thinking of hanging my naked Marilyn in there.

A framed piece of wallpaper fron my husband's grandparents house. It's a funny old print of various men & women bathing. My daughter framed it & copied & painted the graphic flowers in it on the walls. We smile Everytime we go in there.
