Ugh I got an email from Cocoa Daisy this morning saying shipping is going up, effective immediately. From $20 to $30 for the SB kit. It's getting to the stage where the shipping will be more than the kit is worth. I like my kit but am really loath to pay another NZ$13.50 a month I wonder what the other kit companies charge for shipping.

But it's a United States postal thing, our rates are going up across the board. A $10 increase is pretty steep. Is there a way to find a kit company who uses a different shipping carrier? For me, usps is only good for small stuff. I ship heavy tools out, and ups is better for that, with our contracted rate. List price is double our contract price.

julie5 I agree $10 per month is a reasonable increase. I don't think they get very good rates - maybe because they're a small operation? Maybe I'll have to go back to Hip Kit which at least offers bi-monthly shipping which cuts down the cost a lot. I'd pay $14 per month for shipping and then 2 kits would ship together every alternate month.

Those CD shipping rates are astronomical!! No way would I consider paying that much to have something shipped, however lovely the contents of the package. Add to that, the possibility of having to pay additional customs duty and handling charges and the whole idea of posting paper goods around the world becomes an unrealisitic proposition. If I were running a mail order papercraft business right now, I'd be re-evaluating my strategy.

I like the new products ok (I wish I knew how big the enamel dots are), but I think the price points are way too high. I think some of the price points are off....but if you got the entire bundle and used the $5 off coupon from the questionnaire + with the free shipping, then it could be a deal. So $29.99 bundle price - $5 coupon _________ 24.99 but since shipping is free, that saves you about $5 (not sure how much shipping really would be, but with the paper pad, probably about $5). You would pay around $20 for the bundle. SaveSaveSaveSaveWhat survey code?

The exact same thing happened with my AE kit. I had an email that it had been dispatched but there had been no movement on tracking, and was assured by the manager of CS that it had been and my package was not eligible for tracking, and then I check my tracking number and it’s only just left Bowling Green after sitting there for seven days AFTER I got my dispatched email. Ridiculous. This is my pet hate with SC. They take your money and claim that they have shipped your order and then it sits somewhere for several days. I ordered from their new Christmas line on December 2. It sat and sat with no tracking info. After about 2 weeks, I was told that it wasn't eligible for tracking. After another 2 weeks of nothing, I contacted them again, only for a different person to tell me that there was actually tracking. Unfortunately by this time, the order was on its way back to SC. Their only solution is to tell you to wait 45 days and then they will resend. Seems like they waste an awful lot of money resending things due to the fact that they seem to have no clue what's going on. My order was reshipped on January 9, supposedly with upgraded shipping and tracking. After 18 days, it's only made it as far as Miami. I started another conversation and asked them and just got the same answer...contact us after 45 days and we will resend. They took my money on December 2....for Christmas product...and here we are at the end of January and I am no closer to receiving anything. I know I'm the fool for even ordering from them again, but I think I've learnt my lesson now..... I am sorry that happened to you but you need to go harder on the customer service. Hold no prisoners, tell them exactly how it is and make demands about what you want now OR you’ll be contacting your credit card company or Paypal.

I’ve just signed up during the week to cocoa Daisy I wouldn’t have if I had know this would happen, it’s far too much to pay 3o in shipping I will be cancelling the second my 3 months are up Its really disappointing, especially with no warning. I've decided to cancel after the Feb kit. With the increase it works out to NZ$87 which is a really big chunk of my craft budget. Thank goodness we don't get extra customs charges but it's still an awful lot for a kit every month. I do have several kits and quite a bit of patterned paper so that should be plenty to finish the scrapping I'm doing now. My idea for this year is to do more felt work anyway, so I think taking a break will work out fine - and it'll be good to really use up my stash.

I can't name ONE other company that has a mandatory 45 day wait for shipping issues, and that includes all international companies I have ever ordered from. Even random small business owners from small countries on Etsy respond faster than that. I think after you receive your package you should dispute that charge with your CC, at least what you paid for shipping. It's worthless as a christmas purchase to get it in Feb. I hope any potential customers read your post and stay away!!

That's terrible glenys and I agree with @northrigg - it's the randomness which is so annoying. Sometimes things arrive quickly, other times they sit and sit before they're picked up and then take the slow route. I just hope they make it right. They keep trying to make it right.... When the first order went astray, they added a Northern Lights scrapbook kit for free, but now the second order has gone missing too. This time they have sent me a promo code. I'm not going to use that, as then I could have another order that doesn't arrive. As you say, it just seems so random and SC don't seem to have a clue what is going on. It must cost them a fortune trying to make things right all the time. If they just got it right in the first place, everyone would be happy!

The bad thing is that THEY had warning about postage increases. The USPS announced their proposed increase in early October. At that time, CD *should* have evaluated how it could impact international customers and passed on that information to you *before* the changes actually were effective.

In the UK and have never got stung (customs) for a Cocoa Daisy package so at least I don't worry about that. The shipping prices going up are a bit pants though as I love their stuff.

I wrote to CS saying I would have to cancel but asking if they'd be prepared to investigate other options, including bi-monthly shipping. The reply was that they had done this but other carriers are asking $80 for a 12x12 kit and that shipping bi-monthly would cost $50 so not much savings.
Sounds to me like they're not able to negotiate any preferential rates - maybe because the larger boxes are a small volume of overall sales. Not sure how the other companies do it. Anyway, at the moment I just can't justify spending that amount every month on 1 kit, even if it's a great kit.

Oooh, it is really pretty! Thanks for thinking of me! I might have to keep my eyes peeled for someone selling it. I have had good luck with a few subscribers often selling off their kits for the subscription price in the past. The stamp feels very her while still offering some newer options. It must be themed on that special moon coming on the 31st. I am actually tempted to sign up for another kit since I don't do much shopping anymore. Right now the only consistent happy mail I get are Elle's Studio and now the AE $9.99 monthly kit.

Yes glenys. Annoying as there is so little here but it’s just getting prohibitive to get anything large shipped.

It hit me today that Inked Brands has built their entire business model on exactly what Collin and Elizabeth Kartchner are now mocking and demonizing. Turn your followers into dollar signs by contacting Inked Brands. Wonder if Lizzie is still friendly with April and Amy Tan considering her husband built his following with his daily show reject character mocking them?? www.inkedbrands.com/FAQ

Hi, I was a little worried since this thread was on page 2 . So what did everyone think of the February kit? I think the scrapbook is very valentines day themed (I thought they didn't do that). The documenter is slightly better, at 5 dollars of course. I would probably have to throw out the love yo self stamp

I can't find a code that works for a MTM sub?
I tried LOOKBOOK5, SCKIT5 and SCDOC5.
