How long has it been since SC had a really good sale?$5 kits and stamps 60-80% off? I feel like it’s been awhile. I know the last Black Friday sale was lame and had the flat rate shipping, which I hate.

And heck, if I were buying a kit and they did normal bundling again I would likely buy some albums and page protectors. So simple.

It's quite strange - we've been on holiday for a few weeks and when I returned to catch up here, I noticed this thread was no longer on the front page. I wondered if SC had finally given up the ghost and closed. Then I spotted this little flurry - almost as if my telepathy had kicked off the conversation again...
The thing is, did we miss it? Is it really a year since the last discount codes and kit fiasco? It's kind of sad to watch it all fade away, don't you think?! Or will there always been a warehouse in some forgotten corner of Bowling Green with a few dusty rubber stamps, a brown balloon or two and a pile of scissor prints?

Not that I would buy from SC, but the washi and stamp in the TN kit are lovely, if someone is selling them please let me know. Most likely subbers would keep these two items as it’s not often something is well-designed there these days!

Sooooo, are we not going to address the elephant in the room? Either there is a serious case of koinkidinks happening or SC are commissioning stamp sets ripped off KP's recent releases. They released three food sets, two of which really resemble KP's Breakfast Favorites and Food Adventure. They also released a Ticket builder set which is really reminiscent of KP's Tag You're It. Erm? Christine did a bonkers job with her three food sets for SC this month. She has designed them more like she would for her own shop: loads of possibilities, smaller format. The Brunch set, especially, is perfection. Yah, I'm debating getting that despite already owning KP's Breakfast Favorites set. Ugh. Chriiiiistine, why do you do this? (her work for the Stamp sub is meh though)

It does have many elements that Kelly Purkey’s has but who designs for everyday explorers ( who I just heard of yesterday because there was a sneak iG thier set coming out Tuesday & I Iike it. Maybe I should go see if Kelly Purkey already has it? )

I don't blame Christine for this but Studio Calico for commissioning themed stamp sets that are very reminiscent of popular indie designers. It's not the first time I've noticed that all of a sudden, they have a release with several stamp sets that are very close in theme to Kelly's recent-ish product offer. And once upon a time, Kelly was a guest designer herself (Life Love Paper who now exclusively designs for Kelly Purkey was a regular designer for SC until she left them for her friend Kelly in late 2017). It's clear that they're keeping an eye on what she releases. ETA: Christine is not a copycat, I feel it necessary to spell that out. She actually releases pretty awesome and sometimes very niche stuff for her shop (boba tea coming up next).

I like different pieces of each one. Like I like the eggs & bacon overlapping but I prefer the syrup option for the pancakes Im Interested in the set NEXT to the boba tea one where the phrases resemble license plates

Like I like the eggs & bacon overlapping but I prefer the syrup option for the pancakes Oh yeah, not lawsuit stuff but ethically questionable behaviour (especially coming from a comfortable-sized entity like Inked versus an actual indie designer). I mean, we have 800+ pages of WTFery over at SC/Inked anyway. Just adding one more entry to that lenghty list. Look, Studio Calico, since you're doing Kelly's successful stuff, why not hire Christine to do a (properly spelled) rosé + happy hour set? They're both no longer available from KP and I'm kind of in need with the upcoming summer days to document...

I really liked the circle contour map in the SC kit earlier this year but I couldn’t justify the expense when I just wanted that one piece. I find the FYC version more versatile & when I want a circle I stamp it & punch it out. So SC might want to watch out what they are doing ‘we’ might find the other to be more palatable pricewise
