How very selfless of you, Katniss! (I volunteer you too as long as you promise to hit up my DMs whenever there's some French, Spanish or Italian in there to check #forfree) Totally.

The everyday explorers breakfast set? It does have many elements that Kelly Purkey’s has but who designs for everyday explorers ( who I just heard of yesterday because there was a sneak iG thier set coming out Tuesday & I Iike it. Maybe I should go see if Kelly Purkey already has it? ) Christine Herrin is the owner of and designer for Everyday Explorers Co. I don't blame Christine for this but Studio Calico for commissioning themed stamp sets that are very reminiscent of popular indie designers. It's not the first time I've noticed that all of a sudden, they have a release with several stamp sets that are very close in theme to Kelly's recent-ish product offer. And once upon a time, Kelly was a guest designer herself (Life Love Paper who now exclusively designs for Kelly Purkey was a regular designer for SC until she left them for her friend Kelly in late 2017). It's clear that they're keeping an eye on what she releases. ETA: Christine is not a copycat, I feel it necessary to spell that out. She actually releases pretty awesome and sometimes very niche stuff for her shop (boba tea coming up next). And, Christine has designed for/with Kelly in the past. One of my all-time favorite stamps came from Kelly’s shop, designed by Christine (and Kelly I think).

How long ago was AE's food release? Did that predate KP's? I feel like KP has "followed" AE (who is Inked) sometimes too... AE just had a big travel release and then KP's was a month later. The idea of a tag/ticket builder stamp is hardly novel either... pretty sure one of the first SC stamp kits was a tag builder stamp. Not to defend Inked, but I think it's just coincidental.
ETA: Been & Gone stamp sub was a ticket builder and Silver Lake Lodge stamp sub was a tag builder. I believe those were June 2017 & July 2017 but I'm not sure because SC makes it difficult to browse old releases. They also don't have easy links to these kits or I'd share the photos.

Funny you mention the tag builder b/c I think Christine came out with something like that first! 😂 I didn't buy any of the subsequent ones b/c I already had Christine's...

I think there’s only so many themes/ideas for scrapbook supplies and stamps - there are bound to be repeats and duplicates, but to me that doesn’t make it copying. I think every designer under the sun has used the same/similar icons on stamps and cards (geotag, car, tv, etc), some even from the same original designer of the line art (remember OLB and some of the stamps made from vector files found on other sites for cheap/free? The links are probably somewhere in this thread.). And these things are seasonal, especially travel releases coinciding with the start of summer. I’m glad to have options since the designs, color schemes, or prices vary by shop.

SC isn’t exactly great at spelling themselves Can't beat Kelly these days. Multiple spelling mistakes every. single. release. I love her designs but girl desperately needs to pay an attentive customer a monthly $20 gift card to her shop to proof her stuff. I cannot stand spelling mistakes. Right now am grappling with trying to train a junior colleague who has no attention to detail and produces work with multiple typos and mistakes - even in a 2 paragraph letter. It's driving me bonkers. Unfortunately I don't think this person is cut out for a career in the law.

I’m glad to have options since the designs, color schemes, or prices vary by shop. Yah, travel releases before summer is totally normal. All the scrap companies have their travel and holiday releases made available between March and June. Business as usual. What I meant was that KP's hot new products for February and March were included in SC's June stamp release. February: tag builder stamp set March: Breakfast Favorites becomes available as a stand-alone stamp set again and Mexican food stamp set with taco sentiments stamp set is released as a brand new set It doesn't matter that SC or other companies have done such themes before in some shape or fashion (pretty sure Goldenwood/Hello Forever designed a tag builder for SC a few years back as well). It's the "coincidental" timing for themed non-seasonal releases. It's not the first time I've noticed SC "following" KP's releases with a few months in between for similar, non-seasonal stuff. Anyhoo, just keeping tabs. Koinkidinks for some, raised eyebrows for others (well, at least me). I'll just hop back in here next time it happens. Say what you will, SC does follow in the popular indie designers' footsteps and keeps their finger on the hot stuff pulse. I still remember the planner fiasco...

My 2 cents

I like her stamp designs BUT I just can’t justify $28+ For the amount I’ll use them. It’s just out of my budget at that price.
Sadly for me.
She ‘sold out’ on the stamps I liked yesterday ( can be pre ordered now ) so apparently I’m the only one with that issue. It appears to be me not her price point I guess but I just can’t do it. Same with S.C. kits -same price.

Yep. Even though the description clearly says who designed it. I never looked on the site at all, just saw the pics posted here and just assumed it was a Geralyn design.

Same with S.C. kits -same price. I totally agree. I get that she's a small business owner, but I can't buy at that price unless there is a discount code OR she also starts providing the digital. Then I would (maybe) pick up a few. I also think her designs won't age well. I'm looking for a stamp that in 5 years, I know I am still going to be using.

I understand that she's located outside the US and a small business so I'm sure her expenses are higher than other brand. But I don't understand why she doesn't provide the digitals, that wouldn't cost her a thing (other than a little of time to prep the file format). That would add so much value.
I also have had a few issues with her stamps. While I love the designs and the sleeves they come in, I have found they lose their stickiness almost immediately. Stamps that I have used only a couple of times fall off the backing repeatedly and the ones I have used more than a few times even have trouble staying on my acrylic block... to the point where once I hold it over my project to stamp the stamp will fall off and get ink all over my project!

Ooo That’s not good I have a $3 stamp that does that but not a $30 stamp.

Can you ask her to replace those stamp sets? I've never had that happen to mine, personally.

On Persnickety Prints blog they have a promo code for the digital version of the June kit's cards: "Head on over to Studio Calico and get your Free Wild at Heart Cards. Exclusive discount code: FREEJUNECARDS " The code worked for me. I thought I would post in case anyone likes the cards but does not want to give SC any money.

I really like the brunch set. The croissant is something I never would have looked for but now I want. Icon hunting I go. "Brunch is breakfast without an alarm" is so true for me.

dawnnikol It was wonderful! Our honeymoon was my first time visiting the US and it was fantastic and delicious. The Oregon and Californian coasts are simply beautiful. mom Thank you so much. I’m doing some supply shopping right now to get myself ready to scrap. Feeling pretty overwhelmed at the thought of scrapping all those photos though! sleepingbooty Oh bless you our favourite Frenchie! Not sure how to even attempt scrapping thousands of photos! Happy to be back though. anniefb Thank you sweet lady. Tell me what I’ve missed. What’s everyone’s must have product or collection right now? I didn’t get chance to go to Hobby Lobby/Jo-anns/Michaels when I was in the states but I spent $300 in Sephora to ‘make-up’ for it!
