I feel like the kits are really flat. The cork pieces are the only thing that has any dimension. April said in her stories that she designed this kit and all the kits to December so I am hoping this isn't a sneak at what's to come. I agree about the kits being flat. I really like the cards, and the kit actually works out cheaper for me than citrus twist but there’s just nothing in it. I think every kit needs to come with some kind of dimensional embellishment whether it’s puffy stickers, chipboard etc. There is nothing in the new kit of real substance. But I really like the cards. I definitely see everyone's point about the kit being flat, but I don't mind too much. There are the cork asterisks which keep it from being completely flat.
I just wish they would stop putting die cuts into the kits. I hate die cut packs, I can never use them as fast as I get them and with a printer and silhouette I could just create them at home if I wanted so I don't find them to add much to a kit. That is one of the big reasons I could never sub to citrus twist--they always include a die cut pack!
I also feel like the quote marks in this kit are not proportional for a documenter kit, they belong in a scrapbook kit. Even with all these flat embellishments, I love the cards, love the stamp and love the word phrase stickers, plus I think those alpha stickers are nice and the rest will be useable. I am pretty happy with this kit.

Ha! I actually love die cuts. I don't use them that fast either, but I really like having options for embellishments. I don't totally mind the flatness either — it helps my pages not be too bulky. But I would like to see some puffy stickers or some other slightly dimensional elements.

But I would like to see some puffy stickers or some other slightly dimensional elements. I think my biggest problems with die cuts are that I don't have a good way to store them and easily sort through them, so if they work their way into my stash (meaning I don't use them in the first 3 months of receiving the kit) they tend to stay there forever. I also find that most die cut packs have a lot of really hard to use designs.
Good point about pages being flatter--I could definitely use this because I'm struggling to fit through the end of June in my current project life album, but I am determined to stick to only two albums per year. I LOVE puffy stickers and chipboard though. I think this kit would've been much better if they had skipped the die cuts and the quotation marks and included a chipboard sheet instead.

Is my only option for a 6x12 or 9x12 album really just Inked Brands? How I wish SC still had those old Messy 9x12 albums around....

I have thought about it but don’t even know where to start. If I has contacts in this industry, I’d for sure get into 9x12. Sigh.

I wish more companies would bring out 6x8 size too. They seem to exist in dwindling quantities in the U.K. - I need three of the same album for my honeymoon album and I’ll have to buy them from three different retailers as nobody has stock of more than one!

Especially 6x8 with the thicker spine like AE and SC. I wish Simple Stories would make their 6x8 snap albums with the thicker spine like they do for their Christmas album!

Didnt one of the other kit clubs comes out with good 6x8? Cant think of their name but it would have been while you were away getting married. Maybe someone else will recall the name?

I love 6x8, too! I got my last 6x8 album from a Close to My Heart consultant, and I really like it, especially since the page protectors are side-loading instead of top-loading.

I think what was confusing me is the album size - overall dimensions of this album are 6.5" x 9.25". So I was thinking they would hold the time 6x8 protectors. But the protectors that go with this album are smaller.

Coupled with the fact that they were not very forthcoming about dimensions when they came out. I had to measure mine when it got here and post on Instagram. I am using it for a “books read” album.

So... I just got an email from Ali Edwards brand about an Inked brand warehouse sale... and this time they are selling tickets! The link from the email doesn't go to Ali's site though but apparently Inked's new site, Inkedmade.com. They seem to be playing it off as if "Inkedmade" is its own brand but I really think it's just warehouse stuff, so basically all the stuff from their defunct brands. But the website is also selling a Brandi Kinkaid class? Did they ever promote this before? I'm confused...
Also was not sure if this comment belonged on the Ali Edwards thread or here. But since it's primarily about Inked I figured this made the most sense...

Supposedly the ticket gives you discounts per Ali’s email but the website says you just get early access and a swag bag. Here are the brands: Pink Lily Inked Made Studio Calico Ali Edwards Rad & Happy Studio DIY Martie Sharna Burgess The Bucket List Family FYT Life Sounds really unappealing.

How many of those businesses are still in business with Inked? No thanks, I will pass. Another thought - this new 'Inkedmade' site: do you think it could be them getting away from SC? SC has always been their 'clearinghouse' for their other brands. Now they are sending that stuff to the new site. I wonder if SC will continue to be around in the future?

But now you have me worried they're going to phase it out entirely.
What I don't get is why is "Inked Made" listed on that list of brands as if it's its own brand?

Omg, just when things start slowing down they rev it back up again! I just looked quickly at the site and they are selling the pin they gave their customers years ago for 9.99. A freaking cloisonné pin for 9.99. I don’t even think Disney would have the nerve to charge that much for that size pin. How much do you want to bet that the swag bag for the VIP customers will have scissor prints and brown balloons? And to think that all they had to do was pack their original warehouse boxes with some of this product or honor their Mega mega mega mega sale 1.0 orders. The fact that they still have stuff to see is just unfathomable to me. Their warehouse must be like Mary Poppins bag the way they keep finding stuff that is that old.

The SC shop is still full of random stuff... a quick scroll through "all" was a lot of stuff from the "martie." brand, but a lot of that stuff is also in this new shop. So I have no idea what they do to decide which shop it goes in? Also, I don't understand the new site at all... was this email supposed to debut it? Or was there some other marketing done to get traffic to the site that previously sheltered the scrapbooking crowd from finding it?
Then also there is this:
What does that even mean? That is just buzzword vomit. Also no mention of Inked as the umbrella company or the sister brands or anything... so many questions.
And I almost fell out of my chair laughing about the "art print" scrapbook paper.
