my husband is coming over next Monday and we're going away for a few days and I am NERVOUS. Like stomach churning, sweaty palms, feeling shaky nervous! I haven't seen him since the beginning of May and I miss him like crazy so why do I feel like this? Told you I was being an idiot

Not a bad thing! I hope you guys have a great time. I remember that you guys are in different places, so enjoy and have a great time together those few days.

I feel the same way every time my DH goes away. He's in the Army and we've been apart on and off for the last 2 years. Now he's deployed. I'll be excited but nervous when he comes home in 6 months.

DH and I have been married 20 plus years. He has deployed dozens of times in those 20 years and I still get butterflies when he 1st comes home. I worry that maybe he finally came to his senses and will no longer want me. Irrational, maybe, but time and distance changes people sometimes. So far for us it makes us stronger and has kept our marriage fresh, but for others not so much. So I have that fear.

Lainey, my guess is he is just as worried as you are. Absence makes the fond grow harder if you know what I mean. The Navy has a thing they call the cycle of deployment. If you Google it, it may help you understand what you both have been/will be feeling. It is a real thing. These days I don't cycle as much as when our marriage was new, but I do go through it. Good luck and have a wonderful homecoming!

I'm pretty sure your nervousness means you are doing it right.

Aww. I don't know your situation but my husband and I live apart. When we get together to do things or go places it often feels like a date to me too. I don't get nervous but it makes me want to get all dolled up, put on good perfume, fix my hair just right, etc. It's a good feeling! I hope you enjoy your get together. Your post makes me smile.

Due to family circumstances he's living in Ireland and I'm living in the UK. We usually both live in Ireland.
