My brother flew down from Denver and drove with me back to Colorado. It was our birthday weekend so we went to a nice dinner with his family and my parents. Spent a few days with my brother and his wife and my cute little niblets. Then Wednesday I drove up to a sweet little cabin in the woods for a craft retreat with several lady friends. I sewed, laughed, relaxed, and enjoyed the hell out of myself. I had the retreat planned and paid for long before I ever even knew I was sick and we were really afraid I wouldn't be well enough after my surgery to go but I made it. I so needed that. It was so lovely to just enjoy myself. Sunday I started back to Texas but since I had four doctor appointments in Dallas, I drove to Dallas instead of home. We have taken care of the lesion in my liver but there is still a 7 mm lesion in the right lung that needs to be taken care of. I had two options: radiation or lobectomy. They can't resection the lung because the lesion is too close to a bronchus. It's lobectomy or nothing as far as surgery goes. I was leaning towards radiation because it's less invasive but after yesterday's consults, I am going to go with lobectomy. Why choose the invasive option? Well, because if you do radiation, you cannot get pathology back and I want to know for absolute certain whether the lung lesion is metastasis or something else. The operation is robotic, minimally invasive, and my lung function is excellent so I allegedly won't miss a third of my right lung. It's not scheduled yet but should be soon, maybe in a week or two. This cancer is a nasty aggressive bastard and waiting is not wise. Hoping this will be the end as PET scan didn't show anything other than those two spots. Wish me luck!

Sending lots and lots of good thoughts your way, Virginia!
I don't know if I missed this – but is there chemotherapy for adrenal cancer? ( I know for my brothers cancer there is not – they just have to keep looking and attack it where it pops up… )
