DH and I went to see this on Saturday night. We wanted to see "Trainwreck" but the timing didn't work out, so "Spy" was the only other one I was remotely interested in, and that's only because it got such great Rotten Tomatoes ratings. Anyway - unexpectedly, what a great movie, we both loved it! It's funny as hell and full of action. MM is like this rock star action hero in it, she does such an awesome job. It has a lot of great people in it - Jason Stratham, Jude Law, Rose Byrne, and Fifty Cent if you're into him, LOL. So if you are looking for a fun movie to see with DH/SO, check this one out before it leaves the theaters

I did. It was cute. I wouldn't pay to see it again but I don't think it was a waste of my time.

Ok I am curious about this but am wondering if it is anything like bridesmaids everyone said it was good and I hated it. This does look funny though.

I loved it! I loved Trainwreck too.
I love that Melissa McCarthy was the star and treated as any other woman - there were no weight jokes, etc. I love when she went from meek Susan Cooper to a badass. I about died with some of her tirades.

I am the OP - I am one of the few people on the planet who thought "Bridesmaids" was one big turd of a movie, and it makes me nuts every time someone raves about how funny it was. This was nothing like Bridesmaids, it was funny and didn't suck.

It wasn't as funny as The Heat but it was entertaining enough. I liked it.

Saw it. Loved it. DH, DD and I laughed all the way through it. I've never seen Bridesmaids, though, so can't compare the two.

Put it this way, this is the first thing I've seen Melissa McCarthy do since Gilmore Girls that I actually liked. I hated Bridesmaids. But I thought she was great in this.

Who knew Melissa could be an action star?
Also, I thought there was a perfect set-up for "Spy 2."

We liked Spy and are Melissa McCarthy fans. I love that her husband has a cameo in all her movies.
I also loved Miranda Hart's character in the movie. It took me a few minutes to realize Nancy B. Artingstall was Chummy from Call the Midwife. I recognized her voice immediately and it drove me nuts until the "Chummy" lightbulb went on.
