What about felt pens? I think our district quit providing them and I can't seem to find the ones I loved

I bookmarked this thread so I can later go on Amazon and research pens.
Damned enablers.

I'm in school right now... doing a TON of homework. So, colored ink has been the little bit of fun I get to have. I am loving the Papermate InkJoy colors right now. So bright and fun. I like the Pilot G2 blue as well.
If I'm doing cards or something else crafty, I use American Crafts Precision pens most of the time.

We have to us black ink at work. I love gels but they're not great for filling out forms. I've been using Zebra F-301 which is a fine point and slender barrel retractable. I have to keep my eye on them or they walk away. I buy my own since the company only supplies crappy Bic stick pens. The Zebra F-301 is my favorite. I like the fine point, black ink, slim barrel, and that its retractable. You can usually find a big pack at Sam's.

Fountain pens all the way. I usually prefer a broad or italic nib. It makes my handwriting look sooooo much better. And the colors of ink are literally endless. It's so fun!!

I love fountain pens but always seem to have issues after a while with the nibs. My husband bought me a beautiful silver Mont Blanc that I need to send in for service because I can't get it to load ink.

I like a medium point and color makes me happy. My favorites are the colored pack of Inkjoy pens. A random Inkjoy pen showed up here at home and I am kinda hoarding it. I laughed when I saw this thread - I stood in the pen section at WM this morning trying to justify the purchase of a pack of the Inkjoy pens. Not because of the price - cheap, and I even had a coupon - but because I already have 5,000 or so pens at home, and I don't need any more. I may cave next time I'm at WM just because! You really can't have too many pens.

I love pens too and for quite awhile now my favorite has been Pilot P-700, it's a fine point that I like to get in Blue. It's an older model that writes so smoothly it's like ice skating, but sometimes it has a tendency to smudge. I don't mind, the smoothness is far superior to anything else I have tried so far. I was just getting ready to reorder some on Amazon because I'm on my last one, and then this thread came up.
What great timing! Now I've got several choices to look into and try out before order a box of my old favorites.
I also love the website jetpens. Wonderful customer service and going there is just like being a kid in a candy shop again. Also, I too like fountain pens. I have a wonderful treasured Pelikan fountain pen that I like to use for special writing, but for practical everyday use, it's just not what I tend to reach for.
Debbie in MD.

I love my big package of Sharpies in every color. For writing, I like the Pentel WOW! gel pens. Our office supply person ordered generics and I demanded the originals So funny, I did the same for the EnerGel ones. Now everyone is addicted to them too.

Yep I'm another one who went into teaching for the stationery My current pens of choice are Stabilo fineliners and also Inkjoy. Love the variety of colours in both ranges. Makes marking much more fun and makes my comments stand out more on the page. X

I don't have a preference for pen types, but a month ago we went to a job fair and then a college fair where we collected pens at the tables (after gathering more info about the company/college). We should have enough pens to last us for a good long time!

Who would have thought a thread about pens would get to 3 pages!!! I alternate the colour of my pen every day: green, dark blue, pink, light blue, purple, orange. The other day my orange pen disappeared, there was quite the brouhaha let me tell you! Luckily I was able to find a back-up orange pen, because god forbid I should be forced to use green on the day I’m supposed to use orange! Although I have used red in lieu of orange on the odd occasion. Now, onto favourite brands. I had always used Papermate Kilometrico, but I am no longer able to find the pack that contains all those colours. So now I am using Papermate InkJoy, and they are delightful pens. Unfortunately they do not come in orange, so I had to buy a different brand of pen for my orange days. Unfortunately I can’t tell you the brand because as I mentioned before, IT HAS DISAPPEARED. I’m not particularly heartbroken though - I wasn’t a fan of it anyway, because it bleeds through the page a bit. So now I need to find an orange pen that suits my needs (thicker nib, smooth to use and does not bleed through). Wish me luck in my quest!

Is this for fun, to record something, or in a planner? I'm intrigued. I reach for any color in my favorite pen, but I like the idea of specific days.

I love shopping for office supplies - and a new school year is fun - but I don't have anyone to shop for now, and the usual groups that do school supply drives aren't doing them this year.
we got a freebie pen at Target over the weekend, don't remember what it is, but it is nice.

It's actually in my notebook at work, so sadly not for fun!! This is a photo of my notebook:

I confess, I can't do blue ink. Call it a quirk. My love of office supplies was ingrained at an early age (as a kid going into my Dad's office "Hey Daddy, anything in your drawer you can give me?" We bonded over our love of office supplies!) and black was it for me for everyday use. I try whatever the peas recommend when it comes to these types of threads, but I always come back to Papermate Profile 1.4 and the retractable Sharpie pens in fine point. I have to order from Amazon because they don't carry them locally. I know this because I went store to store like a crazy person. I stash them everywhere: on the fridge, the island, nightstand, desk, keyboard on desk, purse, etc.. And like freebird said, they are off limits to grubby unappreciative grabby hands. All other hands but mine really.

I completely understand. I have what might be considered an unhealthy obsession with finding the perfect pen. My favorites at the moment are the Pilot Coleto Lumio with four-color cartridges and the Frixion erasable pen. Being able to erase a mistake takes the pressure off when using it matters. Oh, and I love the Staedtler Black Fineliner pens, too. They are so smooth!

I use these exclusively at work because I can clip them to the pocket of my scrubs. Otherwise I'm digging for gold in my pockets for a pen. i also love the Sharpie fine tip pens, and the Sharpie gel highlighters.

I'm currently using the Uniball Eye (fine) - usually in black. I tend towards black most the time, except in a classic Biro when I prefer blue. I like fun colours from time to time. I also like: Pilot V-Pen (a disposable fountain pen!) especially the light blue/turquoise Uniball Signo Gelstick - my favourite for journalling in my scrapbooks Pilot V-Sign I have a Waterman Hemisphere fountain pen for when I'm feeling fancy I recently discovered www.cultpens.com/ so may well be trying out some of your recommendations soon, I always like to find something new!
