Oh I love this thread, y'all are speaking my language. For doing my checkbook and other basic stuff, I use the paper mate profile in blue. At work, I use Dr. Grip gel in blue or black. The other day I was at the store and happened to see one of the old Bic pens with the blue barrel and the four different color inks, blue, green, red and black. I just had to buy it, you know, for nostalgia purposes.

Copic multiliner markers with .5, .3, .1 tips and .05, .03, .01 tips. So I have a tip for every need.
I have also enjoyed reading this thread and replacing the word PEN with PENIS in every response. Just sayin.

For a gel pen my absolute favorite is the Pentel Energel 0.7 but for a good ol' plain non-gel pen my favorite is the BIC Round Stic Xtra Precision. It's just about the cheapest around, on amazon you can get 12 for $1.99 but they are wonderful. It writes smooth, doesn't skip, and doesn't glob up on the end. I've had some that don't write so well but I just toss those and find one that does. I guess that's a hazard of it being so cheap!

Because pencils? That would end up being 4 pages about the wonder of Ticonderoga.

Normally I read the previous posts to get ideas, but I am a pen Nazi so I'm posting first, reading & hitting the 'like' button later, lol.
I am notorious around my house about my pens. Grocery list must be written in a fun color (right now it's turquoise) so when I check off the items w/black (always black) I can see it easily. Checks are always written in black gel - I just like the look. When filling out forms, if it's printed in black, then I write in blue and vice versa. Menu planning is always done in blue. My weekly errand list is written in purple. In fact, most of my note writing is written in purple. Envelopes are always written in black ink and never gel - too easy to smear. Yes, I am a freak.
As far as the type I prefer, I usually lean toward gel and I love the ones that click closed, as opposed to a cap (which I invariably lose). My current favorite is Pentel EnerGel. However, I do like the Pilot G-2s. And I just discovered InkJoy and am really liking those. I do like Sharpie brand if I'm looking for a permanent marker and have a couple different colors & 3 different sizes of the black always on hand. I don't have a preference for my wide collection of dry erase markers or highlighters.
Did I mention I was a freak?

Thanks for that. Now I have to go back and read all 4 pages again, but this time substituting the word pens with penis. And wondering how I can get a tip for every need. (Is that one penis with multiple tips, or multiple penises each with a different tip?)

I went and bought Inkjoy 300s because of you and I am not impressed. The first pen I tried left several glops in the middle of the lines.
I also bought the Zebra 301. Better, but I'm going to stick with my old favorites.
I guess everyone in my office will be getting a new pen on Monday.

I love fountain pens but always seem to have issues after a while with the nibs. My husband bought me a beautiful silver Mont Blanc that I need to send in for service because I can't get it to load ink. I am so glad that I'm not the only one with a Montblanc here. I need to preface this with saying I only have 1 purse right now and it is 2 years old. My shoes are anything to write home about. Jewelry and whatnot's are not my thing. I have 3 Montblancs. I have a steel Starwalker, my dh gifted this for our 10 wedding anniversary, I have a classic ballpoint pen that I bought with my first job at 17, and a vintage 1955 fountain pen that my parents gifted me for my weding. The only pen I do carry around all the time is the classic ballpoint. I like the weight and feel more. And no one ever writes with my pens. Jennifer

I use a Dr Grip pen, medium ball point, black ink at work. I don't like skinny, light pens when I'm doing a lot of writing. I can't use colors, only black ink so no fun at the office. Comfort is key there.
At home, I have a wide assortment of pens but reach for the ink joys first. I can't use really fine or needle point pens. Apparently, I'm a little aggressive with my pressure and those sharp points just rip up the paper when in my hand.

Fountain pens.....I absolutely love them (and all the wonderful inks you can buy for them). I don't own any crazy expensive pens, the most expensive one I've bought cost me $ 160, but it's something about filling a pen with new ink and then trying it out that is deeply satisfying. And using a fountain pen just feels.....like I'm in a bubble. Just me and my thoughts, the pen and the paper. Yes, I'm a nerd!

Ok. My dyslexia has hit. I was scrolling thru the thread topics and thought this thread said penis! To be honest I find pens! a much more interesting topic. I'd be highly curious about what kind of job I'd be going to that I'd be so excited over getting a new penis. I think we'd ALL be highly curious about your new job, complete with new penis! Your first day of work would be one of the most highly anticipated threads evah!

I mentioned up thread that my favorite pen is the Pilot P-700 fine pen because of how smoothly it writes. I forgot to tell you about this story-I was visiting my Orthopaedic doctor who'd just done surgery on my shoulder for my torn rotator cuff, and while we were looking at the photos that were taken during the procedure he was explaining everything that he'd done, and he grabbed my pen because it was handy (I'd had it out to make notes in the little notebook I carry around) and made some marks on the photo. He continued talking and then the visit was over. I started walking out of the door and realized my pen was still on the small table in the room, said something like "Oops" and turned around to get it.
He said, "I was hoping you wouldn't remember you'd left your pen. That is such a nice pen." He was saying it with a smile. I told him what brand and style it was and how much I liked them.
I don't have an iphone, don't have a need for one, and I carry around a small notebook in my purse to make notes in. It's really a bound journal from Exacompta and I love these things. They are lined, sewn pages with a blank cover, and then I slip it into a fake leather cover. When it gets filled up I slide it out, label the time-month and year, and slide in a new one. This is what I'm usually writing in. You can find them at jetpens.com It's called the Exacompta Club Leatherette Refillable Journal and it comes with the refill already inside, and the refill is called Exacompta Forum Plain Journal Refill. The journal with the cover is $24.50, and the refill is $11.75 at jetpens. You might be able to find them cheaper through Google searches. I've seen the refills as cheap as $9.50. The size is 5x7 which at first seems large, but ends up being just right-at least for me. They do have a leather cover but it only comes in black and red, and is hard to find.
