Trump admitted he would run independent if he doesn't get the nomination even if that splits the republican party leading to democratic win. One could only hope.

I like Rand's, "You don't borrow from China to give money to another country." I have no idea why we do that. It makes NO sense to me whatsoever. I also agree that if we had a surplus and wanted to help, then sure, but why do we borrow to give? I agree!

This democrat hopes that Donald Trump does not get the Republican nomination and then he runs as an Independent.

So, Trump is entertaining, I'll give him that. But I wouldn't want him running my country.
None of these guys blew me away. Wish I'd see Carly Fiorino in the early debate, as she was supposed to be interesting.
The mods were more an active part of this debate than I recall previously, which made it interesting. I wasn't bored -- it was fascinating to me.

Carson on Hillary: “She counts on the fact that people are uninformed, the [Saul] Alinsky model, taking advantage of ‘useful idiots,’” Mr. Carson said. “I just happen to believe that people are not stupid.” This morning on my newsfeed: nailed it!

Am I the only one that thinks Trump is just out there to shake things up and is not really serious about going the distance? I swear, I don't see him going all the way, even if he is the frontrunner by a long shot! I can picture it now--Trump ahead by over 50%, drops out of the race months before the election. LOL I really wish I could say that I agree with you. I'm afraid that Trump's ego and arrogance will keep him in for the long haul. I'm not even registered Republican - I consider myself Independent - but I think Trump is really gunking up the works for the Republican party, and even more important, in finding the best person for the job no matter which party.

Cruz insinuated that Reagan had gotten the Iranian hostages released on his first day in office. In reality, the deal was made before that, but Iran did not like Carter and did not want him to get the credit. I don't like Cruz because he isn't so much about what should be done as much as pointing fingers at people. I used to have a boyfriend who insisted Iran released the hostages that day because they were afraid of Reagan. It was such complete BS. They didn't care about Reagan, they just wanted to spit in the eye of Jimmy Carter. Forgive me if I am wrong, but I always heard that Reagan told the Iranians that if they still had the hostages when he took office, then grass would never grow there again. Has anyone else ever heard this?

They just showed a shot of Charles Krauthamer (sp?) , and I realized he reminds me of Sam the Eagle from the Muppets. He does a bit. He is a quadriplegic from a college diving accident. He has an incredible mind.

Has anyone else ever heard this? I read one of the unauthorized biographies of the Reagans. The daughter, Patty Davis, told the biographer that her father had already been negotiating with Iran to hold the hostages until he became president. That way he'd have a better shot of beating Jimmy Carter. Then while at the inauguration, somebody (can't remember who), came to him where he was sitting, and asked if it was time to contact Iran and tell them it was ok to release them. I don't know if there is any truth to this, but it wouldn't surprise me. If Carter had been able to get them released he could have won. With them still hostages, he had about a snowball's chance in h*ll.

I'm sorry to our conservative friends who enjoy FOX News but I really cannot stand Megyn Kelly. I can't take anyone serious who spells their name megYn. If you don't want to be called a bimbo, then don't show up with hair extensions and change the spelling of your name.

The economy was in an absolute mess under Jimmy Carter. Interest rates were astronomical. I think the Iranians started negotiating with the Carter Administration in October when it was clear Reagan would win the election. One of the classiest things Ronald Reagan did while in office was to send Jimmy Carter to Germany to officially greet the hostages upon their release.

The Iran Embassy has been vacation in DC for 35 years now. It's a beautiful property on prime real estate, the grass mowed by our govt. I wonder why at this point out government doesn't allow the property to be sold?

Having hair extensions makes you a bimbo? She certainly proves with her mind that she is not. She is quick as a whip. I just looked and that is her birth name. Kelly is her maiden name. She changed it from Kendall after her divorce from her first husband. She is remarried.

If you don't want to be called a bimbo, then don't show up with hair extensions and change the spelling of your name. Feel free to hate Megyn Kelly for whatever reasons you wish, but I cannot fathom hating someone based on how their parents chose to spell their name.
And she's a bimbo because she has hair extensions? (are you her hairdresser...how do you even know she has hair extensions?)
If this is the only reason you can come up with to hate Megyn Kelly I think it says much more about you, what you choose to focus on, (and clearly what you choose to NOT focus on) than it says about Megyn Kelly.

Spelling of names, hair, prime real estate. That's really as deep as you're able to go, isn't it?

I remember long gas lines reported on the news, the energy crisis and of course, the Iranian hostages. What I remember about Reagan was later and it seemed that he was very pro-military and didn't take crap from anyone (I miss that). Thanks for your input lucyg.

Here is a transcript link: TranscriptA part of what she said: FIORINA: I agree with my colleagues. We need to begin by undoing -- I would begin by undoing a whole set of things that President Obama has done, whether it's illegal amnesty or this latest round of EPA regulations. But let me go back to something that's very important. We have been debating right here the core difference between conservatism and progressivism. Conservatives, I am a conservative because I believe no one of us is any better than any other one of us. Every one of us is gifted by God, whether it is those poor babies being picked over or it's someone whose life is tangled up in a web of dependence. Progressives don't believe that. They believe some are smarter than others, some are better than others, so some are going to need to take care of others. That is the fight we have to have, and we have to undo a whole set of things that President Obama has done that get at the heart of his disrespect and disregard for too many Americans.

My daughter was a patient at Johns Hopkins Hospital for a long time when she was young. Dr. Carson was already a well known superstar then and inspirational story . Even though I am a staunch Democrat, I read his book out of curiosity. Unfortunately what appears on the surface is quite different from his own words. To me, his ideas very completely radical and not in a good way. He may be an expert in his field of medicine but I do not want him running our government. I think the bloom will be off the rose as people look deeper.

I just always thought he reminded me of someone and Sam the Eagle came to mind. I didn't mean it as an insult--I just found it humorous. I also think it is funny that he and Sam are similar in their serious demeanor. I had no idea about his accident and that he is quadriplegic. But now I realize I have never seen anything but an upper body shot of him.
