I recently cut my hair short and am still getting used to it. I'm playing around with different ways to style it and with accessories like decorative bobby pins, etc. but I'm not sure about headbands. Do they look too juvenile? I can't decide.

I only wear them when I'm running or walking, but that's almost daily. I don't think they're too young but not everyone can pull it off. I can't really pull it off as a fashion choice so it's exercise-related only for me. Plenty of women can make it look great though.

I usually wear my hair in a ponytail because it's easy but when I have the energy to straighten my hair I flip up the ends and wear a headband to keep it off of my face ... it looks fine I think ETA: I wear the thin plastic ones not the thick exercise type

I have bangs, so I only use them when I am washing my face to pull my hair back. I think they can look super cute with the right hair cut, I just don't happen to have that cut.

Like the ones that wrap all around your head and stretch? I tried and they fall off even the "no slip" ones!

Yeah, I guess that's what I worry about--can I pull it off without looking like I just swiped one from my daughter on the way out the door or something. I'm looking at some online from Forever 21 (and that's probably the only thing they have that would even come close to fitting me!) that are dressier that might work. They are beaded, some are woven, etc. And they are super cheap--2 to 5 dollars. So might be worth a try.

I wish I could, I think they're cute with the right haircut. But I've decided I either have a weirdly shaped head or my ears are in the wrong place or something. The elastic ones won't stay on my head to save my life and my ears get in the way of the plastic ones.

No, but only because I can't wear the plastic ones because they interfere with my glasses and the fabric ones slide right off. My friend wears them all the time and they look great (she has the cut/texture for it).

If you like them, wear them! I almost always get a headache from one so I wear them sparingly.

I think they are super cute. I work with a girl has really short hair and wears them all the time, and rocks them! I feel like I have a big head, and headbands only accentuate it.

I wear them sometimes - depends on my mood and level of laziness in the morning. lol My only issue is I wear glasses, so I have to be careful putting my glasses on, or I shove the headband out of whack!

I wear them. I wear the elastic kind. But after a while they give me a headache.

I have a weird shaped head. The elastic ones just pop right off my head!

I wear the plastic kind with "teeth". I am trying to grow out my bangs, so I wear headbands when I workout or just around the house. I do not wear them to work unless it is casual day.

My hair got really thin before my surgery (it's growing back finally!) and a friend sent me a couple of hair bandeaus. I love them! They are easy to wear, not tight, and very comfortable. flic.kr/p/w2sFn9

I've tried to wear a headband but after about 30 minutes I get the worst headache. I do wear the elastic ones but only when working out

I think they are not too young. I like them, but I just can't figure out how to wear them on me. I do wear exercise ones when I am working around the house, not very stylish!

I'm obsessed with Bolder Band style wide headbands right now. I like that they come in three sizes because I apparently have a giant head. I find that when I have the right size, they don't slip off.
I like the hair bandeau look, too.

Compwalla, you look great in your hair bandeau! Thanks! I was a little nervous to wear them at first but I really like how they look. Much nicer than a baseball cap.

If you like them, wear them! I have chin-to-shoulder length curly hair, and wear a headband just about every day to pull it back from my face. During the day, I have some plastic or fabric covered ones. When I work out, I put my hair in a ponytail, but wear around-the-head fabric headbands. I've found that these by Gaiam don't slip at all on me (or DD, who keeps stealing them). I also just bought some from itFit that I like too. I've found with those, though, that I need to wear it a little further down on my forehead to keep it from slipping. But the colors are super cute! (Gotta keep these away from DD or I'll never see them again. LOL!)

There was just a piece in the NY Times about headbands being back in fashion. Go for it!

If I had one that was the right size for my head I would. I like them.

I wear headbands a lot. In the Summer I wear my hair curly and I like it off my face so I use a headband. In the Winter I tend to straighten my hair and don't wear them as much; if I do it's more of a fashion accessory.

I wear one every day. It keeps my hair out of my face. I started wearing one when I was growing my bangs out and needed to keep the half lengths from driving me crazy. Then I had basal cell carcinoma on the top of my head and when it was removed, it left a small bald spot. When I use the headband to sweep my hair back, it hides it.
They used to give me headaches and I keep searching for the perfect one. I finally found some plastic ones that I like that have bendable ends so they don't dig in like the others I have had. The elastic ones just slip off my head.

I'm 46, so I hope not, because I do wear a headband on occasion, lol!
The problem I have with them is that stiff headbands hurt my head / ears after wearing them for a while, and since I'm wearing my glasses right now instead of my contacts, a headband sits right in the same place the earpieces on my glasses do. So I don't wear them very often.

Not anymore but when my hair was longer I often did. But only the stretchy type as I never found any other that didn't give me a headache really quickly.

I have never worn anything in my hair. No bands, clips, bows, ribbons or pins. My hair is very curly, but not thick, and I just don't suit hair accessories. Actually, I did wear flowers on my wedding day!

I don't like the elastic ones that go all the way around, but I do occasionally wear one to pull my hair back. They don't work well with glasses though, so I don't leave the house with one on very often.
I used to have a lot of headbands...now that you mention it, I'm pretty sure they have been stolen by a certain 12 year old.

I wear the thin plastic ones quite often. I don't like my bangs on my face when it is hot. I can't wear the kind that go around your head, they slide right off even the non slip kind.
