You should do a how to video start to finish for a girl like me who needs to 'see' what you do!! I actually thought of that but not sure how to film myself in front of the bathroom mirror. LOL! Check out Mamma Laughlin blog.. if your serious... she has a workout blog but does hair and makeup videos (she does has some awesome hair though)... She has done the bathroom mirror videos pretty good. Nothing fancy at all. IF you are thinking about it.. her videos might help on how she does it.

My only thought is "could I go on camera with my hair soaking wet?" LOL! It's not a pretty sight. Yep, silly I know!

Yikes, just realized my avatar is about 2 years old. My hair is now down past my waist with redish and goldish blond highlights. I have naturally curly hair and only straighten it once or twice a month for special occasions. Thanks scrappintoee for asking. I'm loving this thread!

I learned something new today and I too was overwhelmed by all the instructions. Glad I don't have this issue. lol You can have your hubby film you doing your hair, although I think it would be best to do it in a well lit room, I've seen some bad youtube videos were the room was just too dark to really see what was going on.

Thanks for all the tips. I have EXTREMELY thin hair and use a plethora of products to make it thicker with more body. My biggest secret and product I cannot live without is Toppik. don't laugh, it's that product you see on infomercials! The stuff really works though. It's like a fine powder texture but you get a color that matches your hair. You just tap it on your thin spots with some hairspray so it adheres to that and wow, your hair seems so much thicker. It's a bit pricey, however lasts a long time. There are similar brands that work just as well. I get mine at Amazon, I believe Sally's sells it as well. Toppik

You do have some wicked cool volume! Love the haircut, color, and it just really frames your lovely face! Mine is long layers. Boring, curls flattened out, straight and in a ponytail hair. LOL!! I want gorgeous volume, but I always worried about cutting. My curls are a nightmare. Maybe there is hope. LOL!!

Who besides me thinks Patter's hair should be the Honorary Pea-Style!
If we were to create the "average" Pea and what she would look like - Patter's hair would be first!

I haven't seen her hair (and now I really want to!), but if you have fine hair and want all-day volume, you HAVE to buy this: Root Boost CrimperI have a slightly older version but it is THE BOMB. You just do the roots of the lower layers of your hair and it is awesome volume that lasts all day. If you need a little refresh through the day, you just kind of tousle it at the roots. I have some products I like for going out, but I can't stand the texture for every day use (Rock On Volumizing Powder). This heat tool is my SAVIOR! OMG, thank you so much for posting this! I just found this crimper in my stuff yesterday and had no idea where it came from. Did I buy it? Did someone leave it at my house? The cord was still in plastic and it hadn't been used and if it was mine, I couldn't recall why on earth I bought it. I began to think surely someone left it at my house by accident and I was going over a mental list of who has stayed with me in the last few months. I had half decided it must be my niece's because she spent the night here so I could babysit her little one while she and her man went out for Valentine's day. Now I know I must have bought it after a pea (you?) recommended it. I just don't recall doing so, and I didn't know it was for roots. I thought it was to make your whole hair in that kinky style that people did a few years back. I knew I would never have bought one for that. Ha, now I need to try it out. I just got my hair cut two days ago and I'm not happy with it. Maybe if I get more volume I will like it more? We'll see.

I will do that. It sounds like it really works well. I'm surprised by this powder stuff people are using. This is the first time I've heard of such a thing. Powder that adds volume. It just sounds so weird. And you don't like the feel of it? How does it feel? Like greasy dirty hair? Or like overly dry hair, which is what I'm imagining. All I can see is sprinkling some baby powder in your hair. Kids used to do that in high school gym. If your hair got all sweaty weird, people would put baby powder in it and rub it out with a towel. Then they would re rat it up high again. (This was in the days where you ratted the back of your hair into a little pregnant bump) Even the brunettes used it. It looked grey to me even after they rubbed it out. I guess the theory was like that dry shampoo stuff? I never did try it. I didn't want some cute guy sitting behind me in a class thinking I smelled like a baby's butt.
