if you don't mind, I REALLLLLY love your hair and have some questions!!! 1. How do you get the volume in the CROWN to stay so nice? NOTHING works for me!!!!!!! 2. Is your hair texture thick, medium, or thin? (it LOOKS very thick, and mine isn't....so that's why no matter WHAT I've tried, my crown NEVER keeps its volume!!!) 3. Would you mind if I copied your pik to my computer and printed it to take to the salon? (I'm not even sure if that's possible on this site---but thought I'd ask) Thanks!

I think her hair is super cute, too. Hope she sees this! There's also an easy way to send a message at this site- just go to "members" and type in her name. You get an email when she replies. But I hope she sees this because I wanna know the answer, too.

I haven't seen her hair (and now I really want to!), but if you have fine hair and want all-day volume, you HAVE to buy this: Root Boost CrimperI have a slightly older version but it is THE BOMB. You just do the roots of the lower layers of your hair and it is awesome volume that lasts all day. If you need a little refresh through the day, you just kind of tousle it at the roots. I have some products I like for going out, but I can't stand the texture for every day use (Rock On Volumizing Powder). This heat tool is my SAVIOR!

I use a root thickener foamy thing. It is the generic from Sallys. I use it at the crown and bend over when drying my hair. I tell ya!! It poufs it!! Obviously, I am not Patter, but my cut is similar to her's. I think it does help to have thicker hair to make it work. My DD has a similar but longer cut. Finer hair than mine. She has to really work to get it to pouf and stay. Back teasing(is that what I am thinking of) works with her and a spray that will somewhat freeze it.

Oh, and I've tried sooo many products, from the wayyy expensive salon stuff to the cheapie stuff....doesn't make a difference in my weirdo hair! I'll be out and about on a windy and/or rainy day and my hair is a WRECK while sooo many others' hair looks GREAT!! HOW does their hair stay nice in WIND....and especially RAIN!! That's why I put my hair UP a lot....arrghhh!!!!!!

need my sanity....LOL!!! I knowww, right? I feel like a stalker asking her if I can print her pik and take it to the salon :cheer:AN.....that root boost crimper looks GREAT....I had NO idea such a tool existed!!!!!!! naby64---sounds like my hair is JUST like your dd's... And when I do the back combing---LOL---wellllll----sometimes it just looks BAD---as I said, I have REALLY tried, but sometimes it just looks like a rat's nest in the back, even though I comb unteased hair over it, it just doesn't STAY or something??? I might be doomed to boring pony tails foreverrrr...... Paget....thank you....I did consider sending her a private message; however, I thought we could all share some tips, etc. if I posted it publicly....hope she doesn't mind!

If you watch this hair tutorial it shows you how to get some body on the top of your hair. I am pretty sure she is using Big Sexy Volumizing Powder. She lifts the hair, uses the powder, rubs it into the roots and then back combs. Elsa Hair Tutorial

Okay, y'all are making me laugh this morning. You are TOO sweet! Thank you! First, I have fine hair but lots of it. It also is wavy and the waves go in the wrong direction creating a mess! So my stylist really knows how to cut the waves to break them up. Now let me tell you what I do, and I will share a few photos. 1. My cut is based off of the black and white photo below. It's what I took to my stylist years ago when I wanted it cut super short. 2. The back is cut as short as a man's cut. I love it like that because it keeps me cool and the waves are gone. LOL! 3. When I get out of the shower and while my hair is wet, I use Scruples Creme Parfait Volumizing Styling Foam and Sexy Hair Big Sexy Blow Dry Volume Gel on my hair. I mix in my hand a bit of both and then run through my hair. 4. Next I comb out my hair and let air dry for about 30 minutes. Yes, it feels a bit crusty. LOL! 5. Then I blow dry my hair with a LARGE round brush. That's how I get the volume at the top. 6. Then I spritz with hair spray BEFORE using my flat iron. Gets my hair more "dirty" as my stylist says. 7. Next I flat iron and use Aquage Body Thermal Spray as I flat iron it. This keeps the waves from coming back. 8. Then I comb through my hair. At this point it will seem a bit flat. 9. Lastly I rub a dot of Aquage Texurizing Wax through my hair to get it full and "pieced" how I want it. I have tried root booster, etc., and those have never worked for me. This routine works GREAT for me, and it truly takes me 10 minutes after air drying a bit. It seems like a ton now that I have typed it out but truly it is not. Also, my stylist uses a razor to cut my hair to really get lots of layers in it. Now here are my photos. Oh, and Sharlag my color is red and gold that I use. Sometimes I think the red might be a bit bold but hubby likes it. LOL! Thank you all again for your sweet words! Blessings, BTW, Scrappintoee, you certainly can take these photos to your stylist. Would love to see it when you get it cut.

scrappintoee, so fun that we have the same type of hair! Would love to see your hair if you get it done! Enjoy!!! workingclassdog, yes, when I typed out those directions I thought "wow, that's a lot!" But in reality it is SO quick, and I don't even think about it. I guess I had no idea I did that much until I typed it out. LOL! Truly it is very fast to do though once you get the hang of it. I have been doing this for 4 years or more. And Catherine, thank you for your compliment on my color. You are too sweet. And on that note, I do have a cut and color appointment tomorrow. I go every 5 weeks!

Your hair is adorable, Patter. I like the side part and all that volume. Unfortunately, I have lots of thin, wavy hair, but most of it is in the back, just thin in the front. I also use hair spray (Freeze It) before curling my hair and that really helps with volume. I'd love to see your cut in the back/side. If you feel like sharing, of course!
