Final update: The ct scan is great and they said she has a pretty bad concussion. She needs to stay home and rest for a couple days, not get another concussion and follow up with her primary dr tomorrow. Thankfully she is going to be a-ok!
My mom said the last thing she remembered was coming to my house about 930am this morning to go. The whole rest of the day was a blank. And then at the ER she remembered driving there with my mom but thought it was silly that she was there for a headache.
It was pretty nerve wracking! Thanks everyone!
Smallish update:
Ok, I talked with BIL and he said she took a short nap, about 30 min, and when she woke up a few minutes ago that he asked her how she was and she couldn't even remember what she did today! He told her we went to the water slide and she didn't even remember.
I told him if he doesn't force her to go I will come take her myself. And, I went all mom and got our mom involved!!
He just texted that mom is coming over and they are all going to the ER. I should have just gotten mom involved earlier!!!
OP: Both our families went to the Urban Slide today. A 1,000 ft long water slide set up on a city street. It was a blast! Sis wrecked out about halfway down the slide. My dd's were around her as they went directly after her. They saw her flop off her tube. They got going again and made it to the bottom.
After that she kept saying she had a head ache. About 45 min later we were all done and went to lunch. The whole time she keeps saying she has a headache. We get out of our cars at lunch and were waiting for the rest of our party and she asks if I have any tylenol. I told her no. She was all spacey and asking weird questions. Saying she couldn't find her shoes and they were on her feet, saying she never got her turn on the water slide when she went 3 times.... Then, in the restaurant she asked me if I had any tylenol for her headache 4 more times in the next 25 minutes. After the 2nd time I was really worried and we looked up concussion symptoms but she just continued to tell us her head hurt really bad and needed tylenol. Her dh went next door to the kwik shop and bought some. She took it but continued to be all spacey and say weird things during lunch.
My mom called her and told her that their dog got out and she kept calling the dog by the wrong name. Their previous dog died a few years ago and she kept calling their new dog by the old dogs name.
So we all travel home, her pupils are fine, she got better in the car BIL said and was talking normal and called our mom to ask about the dog and called her by the right name.
It was so weird! For about 2 hours she was all kinds of weird. I told her to go to the Urgent care place but they had other plans and she didn't want to go wait around. Her dh did promise that he would take her to the ER if she started acting all weird again. I talked to her about 30 min ago and she was her normal self.
What is going on with her? My girls saw her fall but didn't think she bonked her head. There were thick ribber mats under the slide and the sides were inflatable. The headache and weird behavior screams head injury to me but she seems completely better now.

ah, if my sister had been acting like that, there is NO question I would have gone to urgent care or the ER. She needs a head CT ASAP.

Could also be heat or sun stroke.

My DS got a concussion and had similar symptoms. One of the tests they did in the ER to determine (prior to the CT scan) was to have him stand with his arms out at his side (so he looked like a letter t) and close his eyes. If he lost his balance (which he did) it was a sign of a concussion. He was still dealing with this for weeks (months) after his headache and confusion went away. Have your BIL try this with her (but make sure to have his arms ready to catch her).
Hope she is better soon.

Forget the other plans. Tell BIL to take her top the ER.

she could have had a mild stroke, a head injury, heat stroke or any number of really bad things-I would have forced her to go the ER

You can't be too careful when it comes to head injuries. I'd try to convince her (or just pick her up and take her) to the ER.

Ever since Natasha Richardson's ski injury that lead to her death I've been even more careful about head injuries. Brains shouldn't be messed around with!

Any type of altered mental status is cause for concern... Doesn't matter if it was caused by a concussion, small tear, heat stroke, or some other cause... Pain could be from an increase of pressure... You just don't know...
Worst case scenario type thing, but people have fallen, torn a vessel in their brain, experienced bleeding, and died hours later despite feeling fine... All depends on the location and size of the tear... A small tear with a small amount of blood being lost slowly will take longer than a larger tear...
If anyone knows the comedian Tig, that's how her mom passed away... Fell at night but felt okay, and died the next day... Very sad...

I would be concerned too. I'd really try to convince her to go get checked out. What made her wipeout? Could something have happened (like a stroke) that caused her to wipeout thus causing the strange behavior? Or could she have wipedout and that itself cause the strange behavior?

You can't rely on your sister to make the decision to go to the ER. She's not thinking straight.
When I had my stroke, I couldn't communicate. I knew that I had just had a stroke, but dh said that I told him that I just had a migraine and wanted to go home to rest.
Thankfully dh had just read the stroke symptom checklist in Reader's Digest and knew that I was exhibiting stroke symptoms, so he rushed me to the ER.
My brain was a bit swollen, so it took me a few days to return to normal.
There are many reasons why your sister could be having the symptoms she is experiencing. ALL of them need to be checked out at the ER immediately.

Could something have happened (like a stroke) that caused her to wipeout thus causing the strange behavior? Or could she have wipedout and that itself cause the strange behavior? She wiped out because there were a bunch of kids who had wrecked and gotten the traffic backed up. She was trying to slow herself down and somehow managed to wreck. I texted BIL and they are home and he says she is acting normal. She doesn't want to go but he said he would keep a close eye on her. I'll keep bugging her!

Could also be heat or sun stroke. When dh had heat stroke he was saying off the wall things, had a racing heart, etc. she wasn't quite like that, but it was hot out.

I'm a high school athletic trainer so I'm pretty familiar with concussions. If I had an athlete like that I would be telling their parents to get them checked at the ER. Concussion symptoms can come and go. Odds are she's PROBABLY alright, but this is NOT something you want to take chances with. And with concussions, you can't totally rely on a checklist. Different people will have different symptoms, and you won't have all of the possible symptoms. She NEEDS to get checked ASAP. People with concussions can seem fine one minute and then be dead the next from a brain bleed. Also, you don't have to hit your head to get one. If your head is whipped hard enough it can still give you one. Your brain is basically being thrown around inside your skull and a forceful enough movement can do it.

Isn't it worth a trip to the ER to find out? Please encourage them to go. Another thing your BIL could do is call the nurse line associated with their insurance. I've found that service to be invaluable--and it's free.

I just took a hard fall from a bike and probably had a mc concussion (helmet worked). This balance test is great to know about.

In this kind of situation, it is always better to be safe than sorry. The brain is nothing to mess around with. Be a tough sis! You would never forgive yourself for not making this decision for her if something were to happen to her overnight. She may be a bit embarrassed or she might truly think she is fine. Sometimes we need to advocate for those we love. Good luck and keep us posted. Prayers are sent.

I shouldn't have waited two hours trying to talk to her. I should have just told mom earlier. We don't mess around when mom tells you!

Those are typical symptoms of a concussion. Hindsight is always 20/20---she should have gone right after it happened.
