I want to make a small tote for an elderly woman who lives in AZ. What colors do you recommend?

Depends on where in AZ the person lives, somewhat, but the sun is BRIGHT here so pastel colors or very dark colors (burgundy, pine green) would look odd, in my opinion ; bright cheery colors like IPeaFreely would be good!
