I'm thinking about making the advent calendar from muffin tins. Has anyone made one before - why type of magnet did you use?
I know it can't be very big or the covers for the openings will overlap. I saw a picture of a tiny magnet (like watch battery or smaller) being used but I don't know if it would be strong enough.
Thanks!!

I have a stash of the 2-part magnets made by BG years ago, in 2 sizes. Even the tiny ones are strong enough to hold a pocket on a L/O closed. I also have some generic single-part small magnets from a hardware store; unless your item is heavily embellished I think you will be fine.

That is a cute idea! I would probably use sticky-back magnet strips that you can cut apart. That way you can make them any size or shape that works for your covers.

I think those Advent Calendars in muffin tins are so cute!! How do you remove the date/day without bending the paper to get the prize inside the cup? I can't imagine a child being really careful with this so I'm wondering if this is just a thing to use for just one year?

Magnets come in different strengths, so you need to make sure that yours are a stronger kind. I used the sticky backed magnet tape that you cut apart to put some spiders crawling up our front door at Halloween. (Think Chamber of Secrets creepy!) But the magnets weren't strong enough to keep the little spiders on the door (and they were super light!) I ended up using adhesive dots.
