I had my hair done yesterday and I really loved the hair dryer they used. Does anyone have a recommendation of one that they really love?

If you really liked the one your stylist used, she can probably order one for you. That's what I usually do. That way if I have a problem with it my stylist takes care of returning it for me and getting me a new one. One word of advice, some dryers are pretty darn heavy so try to hold it in your hands before you shell out a good chunk of change.

I use & recommend a Chi Ionic Ceramic dryer, for which I paid ~$200 at Beauty Brands (a chain store similar to Ulta) about four years ago. Note Chi, Babyliss, & other brands of professional grade hair dryers are regularly stocked at TJMaxx, Marshalls, HomeGoods, etc. for <$50. IMHO the ionic dryers are worth every penny for cutting the drying time of my thick, water-retaining hair in half!

I'll start by looking there!

I have super thick hair, and it still cut my drying time down by about 15 minutes. It's 25% off right now! linkEven if you're not interested in that one, Follica is a great site to check out their top selling ones and reviews. I've used it for my last hair dryers, straightening iron and curling iron, all with success. I had a Chi before this hair dryer and hated it - was pretty happy the day it started smoking!

*KAS* we have the same dryer and it is forever throwing off the attachment to create a narrow hole. I was thinking of upgrading to the Devacurl dryer or Drybar. Then I thought are dryers really that different or is it the hand (and products) that is using it?

I agree that the hand / products are a lot of it, but I definitely noticed a difference when I went from the Chi to this one. My hair is softer, and not as frizzy or dry feeling/looking. I figure the hair dryers has to be a part of that - I didn't get that much better at blowouts. LOL

I have a Rusk dryer that is about 5 years old now and still going strong. I have curly hair and the low setting on it is perfect. I actually spent the money for an Elchim dryer, but even the low setting blew too hard (hehehehe)... It made my hair frizzy.
If you have straight hair, you have a lot of great options!

I gave the stylist to go ahead to do any color she wanted for the highlights and that's what she chose. It's actually a mixture of gray and blonde but I love it!

I have a Karman hair dryer I bought off Amazon. I really like it. I had a Chi hair dryer and it stopped working after 6 months.
The Karman was $150 but well worth it.

I swear by Elchim hair dryers. My last hair dresser used them and I bought my first one through her. Now that I have arthritis in my hands, I needed a lighter dryer and bought the one I linked. More compact and lighter than the full size, but just as powerful. I also swear by Elchim hair dryers. My stylist recommended one to me about 12 years ago and it is still going strong.

I have a T3 featherweight. It's nice and light, dries my hair quick, adds shine and minimises frizz.
