I found it today at Barnes and Noble--a sure sign that summer is over and it's time to start thinking about making stuff for the holidays!
Anybody else like this magazine? I've been collecting the Christmas ornaments issues for years and years. I love having so many styles to look through, and I've stitched several of them. I have a secret sister at church this year, and I'm thinking about stitching an ornament for her. I always get in the mood to cross-stitch and embroider in the fall!

I just recently did some embroidery for the first time in years, and it has really put me in the mood for stitching. Not Christmas ornaments because that isn't my thing. I do reproduction antique samplers, and I left a bunch half-finished, so maybe it's time to get back to them now ...

I used to love to cross-stitch, but haven't done it in so long. The last thing I did was a teeny tiny Fall sampler. Small enough to put in one those medical slide soldered pendants. (only mine isn't soldered)

I always have about three projects going, but my work on them slows to a halt in summer because I am like you... it is a fall activity. I just got that issue myself and dog-eared some pages, but I am still working on a penguin ornament from the 2013 issue so I have to finish that first.
ETA: Did you know that if you are a subscriber to Just Cross Stitch, you can download the PDFs of the issues, including the ornament issues, from the website. You can get the archives too.

This is really making me want to dig out my books and cloth and do some stitching.

That, and unframed projects sitting in a box. :-p I love antique samplers--I didn't know that you stitched, Lucy! Twenty years or so ago, before I got into scrapbooking, I was a stitching fanatic. Now I just do an occasional, simple project here and there. Last thing I did was a Happy Halloween picture from last year's Just Cross-Stitch Halloween issue.

I love cross stitching. Last project I did was a large tribal turtle for my SO's birthday. That was a couple of years ago! Took me a long time to do it, but it turned out nice.
I think an ornament would be a great idea for your secret sister.

I used to cross stitch all the time! I don't think I can see well enough to do it now.

Although I haven't picked up a needle in over 4 years, I continue to get the annual Christmas ornament issue. Like MDscrapaholic, I'm not sure I can see well enough to stitch anymore. I used to love stitching on 36 or 40 ct.linen (over 2).

I used to make ornaments from this magazine for years. This past year was the first year I didn't renew my subscription to the magazine. I will miss this ornament issue. Hopefully I'll be able to find it around here. I don't even know where the nearest Barnes & Noble is. Most have closed around here.

I used to cross stitch all the time until I had my DD and couldn't have it out. Now 14 years later I have many projects started and NEED to get them finished! And this weekend my friend just gave me a bag full of DMC floss, one of each color! (Her mom used to run a cross stitch store and recently passed away.)
