The post the other day on this intrigued me. I hate my hair...always have. It's thin...doesn't hold style. ..I recently started getting professional color (purple highlights last month) Anyway Co washing intrigued me...stopped into walgreens saturday and they had this buy one get one free Got that scent and lavender. Used it saturday night sunday night and this mornin...but not liking the feel of my hair! Does it take time for it to change the way it will feel? Did I use to much or maybe not rinse good?? Just sounded like something I could benefit from instead of shampoo chemicals. Thanks for any tips! !

So I've used Wen, and while I don't dislike it, it does feel like I've got a waxy feeling to my hair when I run my hand through it. Not quite sure how to describe it. I'm not sure it's visible, but I feel it. Wen instructions tell you to wash and rinse, then use a bit more and leave it in your hair. I stopped doing that and it helped, but the feeling is still there to an extent.

My mom has purchased many brands of a combo conditioning/cleansing cream and didn't like any of them after a few uses. She is super picky, so it didn't surprise me. When she offered me the bottles of what she would no longer use, I jumped on it because I'm not as picky as she is and it was free shampoo.
I was surprised that I didn't like how my hair looked and felt with any of them. It was flat and looked dirty to me instead of full and fluffy clean. I also wondered if I didn't rinse it out enough. It just felt clumpy and coated.
Since they were all supposed to be very gentle, I tried one to wash my dog. He is a light cream color and since he is with me 24/7 and sleeps on my bed, I bathe him usually twice a week. I normally use my own gentle products on him. I didn't even like what it did to him.
I had high hopes that this was going to be better than separate products, but it didn't work out that way for me.

I've never tried co-washing, but I came to this thread wondering why you were washing cows, and just how many cow washing threads there were! Guess I need to read better!

All I want to say is that I read the title quickly and thought this thread was about washing cows. Lol Thanks for the laugh. That is all, carry on the conversation about COwashing. :-) Kat
(Eta) Merg, Guess I should have read all the replies before responding. Great minds and all that jazz.

My eyes obviously need testing. My first thought when I looked at your title - why is someone interested in washing cows?

I've never tried co-washing, but I came to this thread wondering why you were washing cows, and just how many cow washing threads there were! Guess I need to read better! I thought it meant two people were washing their hair together! I have never heard of cowashing before! I learn so many things on 2peas!

I've used Renpure and it's been pretty good. But I know what you mean about the way it feels. I've been using Wen and it's not so much waxy for me as.. slick, I guess. Not oily or silky but like it has too much slip when I touch it. Does that make sense? Herbal Essences Naked will be my go to, again. I mix it up depending on my mood, so I have that, some TIGI Catwalk Oatmeal and Honey, and some Lush stuff, and it depends on the day and how much time I have, etc. I've tried so many different things, it's madness really. And on the weekend, in my lazy day, I didn't shower until nearly dinner time and just used my son's shampoo and ran a comb through it (no product, no blow dryer)and it looked AWESOME. The cheapo Suave clarifying shampoo that's about $2.00 for a big bottle. And I'll tell you right now, if I tried it again and went to work like that, it would look flat and limp and horrible. I can't win, yet I persevere.

The trick to using this kind of product is to rinse the heck out of your hair. Then rinse some more.
