And I'm so nervous! Lol. They are actually a palazzo pants style..very sheer material...the liner is about 3-4 shorter than the outer...but she trips over it so she asked me to hem. I don't do this type of stuff...I do bags, pillows, etc...with cotton. So I'm nervous! Granted it's at her feet, it's a dark material and it's an evening wedding...but still! Any tips!?
Edited to ask....what would you charge $? I have no idea!!

Iron the hem 3/8" below where the final hem will be--all nice and straight. Then sew around the hem--just a regular straight stitch. Trim the fabric close to the stitching, then turn the hem up one more time and stitch around it. The extra fabric with the first turn up will help you keep the hem straight and it will be easier to handle than a tiny little 1/4" hem that will fray the second you touch it.
I hope that makes sense! The hardest part is getting it all straight. Sometimes I'll use a piece of card stock to iron against to keep the hem from getting wonky if the fabric is really wiggly. But once you iron the hem and trim it, the second turn up goes really quickly and easily.
And use a new needle--a 9. And I'd charge at least $25. $30-40 if you live in a more metropolitan area. You are going to have to be extra careful and it's more work than a regular hem. But it really is surprisingly easy once you have it figured out. I'd bet there are some youtube videos.

I'd hem them by hand.

There is a stitch on my machine that does hemming, I just don't know what it is. If I hem myself I do it by hand with the opposite hand to which I write with. I do a beautiful invisible hem (I learned from a very skilled home-ec teacher years ago). My seamstress I go to now charges me $6 to hem and will do it that day for me. Is it beautiful like an invisible hem? No. Do I care any more? No. I don't have to buy thread, measure, have someone else pin the garment etc. It's worth it to me to have her do it.

You don't want to do an invisible hem on chiffon (or similar material). You need to be able to enclose the raw edge or it's going to unravel.

If I were you, someone that can sew cotton pillows and bags, I would buy a small piece of fabric similar to the garment to practice on. It might be worth it to just hire someone that specializes in bridal/prom.

You're brave!! I needed to take up a dress that I was wearing to DD's Debutante Ball. It was a similar sheer fabric and even though I have 2 sewing machines and an overlocker I was not game enough to do it myself - I didn't want to risk stuffing up a $340 dress!
As Basket1lady said, make sure you use a new needle. And I would also get a scrap of similar fabric to practice on.
As for what to charge..... I wouldn't charge anything if it was a friend or family. Otherwise maybe $30?? I think I was charged about $40 at an "Alter It" store.

I have hemmed silk before (very fine silk) and I did this tiny little hem on it. It was so tedious and I won't do it again. For $6 I can pay someone to do it for me. She will do a better job, too.

Exactly. You need that rolled hem. The blind hem foot you mentioned won't do a rolled hem. You need to have the edge covered--traditionally with seam tape, although you may see a serged hem these days. And by then (for chiffon), you don't need to blind hem it--it would basically be hemming the pants twice.

The skirt I did hem had a <1/4" hem and it wasn't chiffon so there wasn't that little rolled bit of stitching you have to do. I was just comparing difficult fabric to sew with. I am by no means an expert, but I do a beautiful invisible hem.

Is she a friend? I wouldn't charge a friend, but that is just me.
