@gar anxiousmomSince you both asked so nicely... here's a thread. What would you like to know about the wedding?

I want to know everything! What kind of dress did you wear? Traditional or something more modern?? What did your husband wear? Traditional tux? How about your best man? (That is what you had, right?) Did you have bridesmaids? What kind of reception did you have? Did all the new in-laws behave themselves? Was it beautiful? Lastly, and probably the most important, what was your very favoritest moment? The moment where you couldn't help it but get tears in your eyes because it was the most beautiful feeling of love you have ever had? (Can't help it, I am a closet romantic-but don't tell anyone?? LOL)

Hahahahaha. You're hilarious. I wore a modern dress with a vintage look and feel to it. It's from a traditional line. Actually, I can show a picture of it. Here's a model wearing it. I wore my niece's cathedral veil with it (she got married this past July). DH wore a navy suit. No tuxes. My Man of Honour also wore a suit. But his was grey. No bridesmaids. We had a traditional reception in the sense that we had cocktail hour, dinner and dancing. However, we had board games, and colouring, a violinist who plays pop music during dinner, and a menu of mocktails. People say it was very personal and different despite the "normal" timeline. The inlaws behaved. At least as far as I know. It was. At least I think so. My favourite moment? Hmmm... I had a lot of them. All for different reasons. I will have to ponder that more. But at least that's a start.

ETA I love this:
" we had board games, and colouring, a violinist who plays pop music during dinner, and a menu of mocktails"
And I'm glad to hear the Inlaws behaved.

jenjie Thank you! The mocktails were awesome... everyone who was a DD or just didn't drink really enjoyed having options beyond pop or juice. One drink was a Cherry Bomb... essentially a Shirley Temple rimmed with pop rocks.

How did it work out with the flowers. I think you were going to get them bulk from Costco? Did everything go so smoothly?

The dress is beautiful, the reception sounds like a ton of fun and the cupcakes are a perfect idea! I know you won't share a picture (I don't blame you) but I bet the whole thing was lovely. I am glad you got to do it your way and that will be a memory you will always have. The next burning question? Have you started your thank you notes yet? ( )

Congratulations! For some reason, I thought you were getting married in the spring.
But October is a lovely month in which to get married. DH and I celebrate our 17th this Saturday, the 17th!
