Post reception update:
Not a very interesting update. If I didn't know all the back story I'd have just thought I was at a simple small-budget wedding. I did hear a few more tidbits from one of my friends who was a bridesmaid though.
I commented that the favors were cute (candy in a small burlap sack). She told me the groom took the candy from the hotel where he works.
There was one bridesmaid who was a sister-in-law. I asked where her husband was (the bride's brother.) "He's not here. He hates his sister."
My friend also said the bride owes her $350. And she was mad because the bride's family was supposed to clean up at the end of the reception but they all left, leaving the work for the bridesmaids.
Didn't look like a potluck after all. There were finger sandwiches, meatballs, cocktail weenies, chips and salad. They did the cake smash into each other's faces and did a dollar dance.
That's about it. I may have more to add later because another friend of mine did the hair and flowers and said she had stuff to tell me haha.
First update, post-ceremony:
So I'm home in between the ceremony and the reception. Wedding started at 3:15, it was all over, including the receiving line, by 3:40. Reception doesn't start until 5:30 and my house is in between the church and the reception site, so here I am. Because you all needed an update. :-) Will also have a snack and use the bathroom before I head out to the reception (at an Elks Lodge. Cash bar, but bathrooms!). Ceremony was fine, nothing to snark at. As I sat there waiting for it to start I said, "This is a pretty old church." Guy I know who I'm sitting next to says, "Really? You'd describe it that way?" Haha. It was cute, though. Simple, old, small, sits on a hill. The foliage is beautiful right now. The bridesmaids were wearing flip flops, the foam-soled kind. Saw one guest in jeans. There was a Hummer limousine out front. Of course. I may have misspoken when I said potluck reception. This is what I heard from the bridesmaids. I was not asked to bring a dish, so I guess just family was enlisted. I do have some leftovers in the fridge though...
I'll be back with another update after the reception!

The invitation was lovely. Nothing tacky or snark worthy. It's kind of awkward that it only has my name. Is my husband invited or not? He doesn't want to go anyway so...I send in my response that I'll be attending.
First week of July, bride complains on Facebook about people not sending their responses yet. She has a wedding to plan, people! The invitation said please respond by August 1.
Two bridesmaids are kicked out of the wedding. Two others from the same social circle are added. Dresses are transferred.
Bride starts GoFundMe account for wedding. I can't even.
Not sure what happened to originals, but husbands of bridesmaids are recruited as groomsmen. The entire wedding party has known bride and groom less than one year. The women all work out together at the same gym. Matron of honor is bride's fitness instructor.
Message from bride on Facebook yesterday: "for those of you coming to my wedding tomorrow, please carpool because there's no parking at the church. Also, there are no facilities so stop at the grocery store 5 minutes away to use their bathroom before the wedding."
