I could handle having allergies and a chest cold. I could *almost* even handle adding in pretty crappy MS flare up (numb hands and feet (except for two finger on my right hand), feels like I have an evertightening corset on). But, for fuck's sake, my period??!?? Did I mention that only two fingers on my right hand aren't numb?
I guess that last bit could be a good thing but I was having enough trouble with the MS-related pain and depression. Cramps and period-related depression?
I still haven't started my round of steriods. The earliest will be Monday, and a couple of days until I start seeing an improvement.
Fuck me, it's going to be a long week.

I hope that you start feeling better soon.
Is there any herbal teas that help?

I don't know of any. The corset feeling comes from muscles spasming and the hands/feet are from the myelin sheathing around my nerves being destroyed. I have to be careful right now that I don't take something that might react with my meds.
The steroids have taken me back to almost 100% before. I just have to wait for my insurance to approve their use.

Maybe some boiled ginger? With some cinnamon. It's my favorite afternoon drink. Cinnamon is supposed to be good for swelling.

I am convinced that our immune systems take a dip right when our periods start. If I get sick, that is when it is. This is for you!

I'm so sorry When it rains it really does pour doesn't it? Yep. I'm just trying to remember that it could be much worse and that so many do have it worse.

Did you up your Gabapentin? I was so hoping that would work for you. Sometimes those damn nerves get turned on & just don't want to go back to normal.
Does it take long once the steroids are started? And yes, getting your period feels like adding insult to injury, doesn't it?

And yes, getting your period feels like adding insult to injury, doesn't it? I've tripled my dose and it helps a bit. The last couple of days I've been getting worse, I've had events I could not bear to miss so I'm paying for it tonight. The last time I felt this bad, my doctor had me admitted to the hospital. It took two weeks for me to get back to almost normal.

I am right there with you. This has been a week from hell for me. I sprained my ankle last Saturday. Started with a cold on Tuesday. Then added my period on Thursday. I've been getting off easy on the periods since I'm approaching menopause. It's been about every other month and only for a couple days. Just had it two weeks ago though. This period apparently is making up for all the easy ones I have had. So then Friday my cold has morphed into something more than a cold. Going to go into the doctor tomorrow. I don't have time for another week doing nothing. I seriously have spent more time watching tv this week than I have all this year. I hope next week is better for you and me both.

I hate being sick in any capacity. I had Ecoli of the kidneys a couple of weeks ago. That is some kind of sick let me tell ya. And then had a flare of fibromyalgia too. 102 fever for 4 days zaps the adult body and it is taking me forever to get all my energy back.
So..... Big hugs to you!

I'm so sorry you are feeling badly. That is a crappy week. You should take a nice warm bath. It should help with the cramps anyway.
