Aw, Jen. You are so, so far from being a spoiled brat!
I think you need to prepare the house, meals, kids, etc. is perfectly normal. DH and I were like that ahead of each of his surgeries, too. It's just smart and thoughtful.
Please, keep us posted as to date and time. You are absolutely in my prayers, dear pea friend. I'd like to pray extra during your surgery.

BTW there is a notation in the Pea handbook Volume 15 Section 3.5.69.2 v.10 a) that says clearly that she who has any form of tumour benign or malignant may whine, complain, bitch, cry, mope, ask for help and support and anything else you might need at this time. I can cut and paste the whole section, but I gave you the highlights.
Seriously, bring your stress and struggle here. Your family is worried enough about you and we can listen night and day. We will support you in any way we can.
