I have a 1:45 doctor's appointment and afterwards a friend is stopping by for a little bit. Thankfully my cleaning lady brought me a fleishkeuchle. It's a German Russian thing that's very popular in these parts:)
You make a dough like bread dough, roll it into circles, put a mixture of hamburger, onions and spices on half a round, fold it over, seal it well and then deep fry until golden brown. They're best right out of the fryer but they heat up well in the oven too.
I haven't had fleishkuechle for quite awhile so I'm really looking forward to dinner. What are you having for dinner tonight?
BTW: It's pronounced fly-sh-keek-la. Accent on the keek.

I am planning on making meatloaf, baked potatoes and salad.
Just found out a few minutes ago that we need to pick up sil at the airport in Anchorage right around dinner time. My fil was supposed to pick her up but the roads are really bad and he doesn't feel comfortable driving. We totally understand and don't really want him driving that far in the dark anyway so we are going to get her. Maybe just maybe we will grab dinner somewhere in Anchorage!!!

Even though I don't feel like it I'm making spaghetti sauce with fresh spicy Italian sausages in a red sauce ... I only have linguini in the house so we'll be eating it with that akathy, your dinner sounds really good! Unfortunately, my dh hates most dishes that involve ground beef so it would not go over well in my house

Tonight dh is grilling steak for him and dd and steaming a lobster for me. Sides will be corn on the cob and baked potatoes.
On a side note, yesterday after church I ran into BJ's to get sandwich meat for the week. The line at the deli was crazy - there had to have been at least 25 people there. I figured I'd grab a number and get a few other things while I waited for my turn. Well, they were serving #75 and my number was #76. It ends up that all those people were waiting for rotisserie chickens! Anyone have any clue what's up with that? Sunday tradition that I don't know about?

We're having tacos because dd will be home for dinner and it's on the list of 5 meals she'll eat. I'll serve them with mexican rice, chips and salsa and something chocolate for dessert. Dd is a picky eater, but chocolate is on her list of approved foods. Smart girl!

My dd has a performance tonight from 4:30-6:30, so I'm making something easy for the boys before we leave-sloppy joes and corn. DD and I will have leftover chicken sausage and squash that I made over the weekend when we get home. DH is working.

Cleaning out the fridge tonight because I won't have time to go to the store. Kids will have spaghetti and I'm making a smoked sausage link with a garlicky edamame recipe I just saw on a blog. Doesn't sound like a good combination but it will get the low carb job done for me.

We are planning on tacos. Honestly, we could eat tacos every other day and not get tired of them. All of us kids inherited the "taco love" gene from my mom. Was her favorite, too. Our tacos are pretty basic. Browned seasoned ground beef, lightly fried corn tortilla shells, cheddar cheese, diced tomatoes, diced onions, Louisana hot sauce. Lots of napkins. And we rarely have side dishes. That would mean we would eat fewer tacos and one simply cannot have that!

It's a toss up between turkey meatloaf and shepherd's pie tonight. I can't remember what meat I have in the fridge.

We had sandwiches for dinner. But I made up for it later by making a yummy Hawaiian Pasta Salad before the kids went to bed. They love pineapple, and went to bed very happy

Busy day today. So, I had to come up w/a quick meal. I'm making garlic chicken w/peppers and brown rice. I still have peppers in my garden, but I think that's coming to a close soon.

Butternut squash soup and crusty bread. Oldest ds was supposed to have baseball practice tonight so I was organized and made the soup last night. Then it rained, which is so desperately needed here in CA, and practice is now cancelled.

We have leftover chili from Saturday night and shredded beef from last night, so it's soup and sandwiches tonight. Love not having to cook today!

I haven't had fleishkuechle for quite awhile so I'm really looking forward to dinner. Sounds like something Rose from The Golden Girls would make! Sounds delish! We are having lasagna in the crockpot. I made it once two weeks ago and it was a HUGE hit! My son said he would eat it everyday (and he's my pickiest!) I made a meat sauce first using ground pork this time, then you just layer everything in the crock. It's really good! I'll probably make salads to go with.

Panda Express opened today about 5 minutes from my house so my granddaughter and I went for lunch, I got the large plate so I would have enough for dinner, too!

DS has his recheck with the eye Dr for his contact lenses, which messes up dinner time. I pulled the 3 dishes of leftover ziti from last week out of the freezer. Remembered when I got to work that I didn't need to because the band out where I work has a chicken dinner fundraiser every year, and the owner of our company picked up chicken dinners for everyone's families. I guess we will have those tomorrow night when we were supposed to have leftover chicken fajitas from last night. I feel like everything I post on the what's for dinner thread has a whole backstory any more!

Salmon. Baked potatoes. Probably a tossed salad with homemade lemon and oil dressing. I like lemon and oil dressing so much better than vinegar and oil. The vinegar is just too tangy while the lemon instead gives the dressing a nice "zing." I add the following spices to taste: oregano, basil, Italian seasonings, parsley, lemon pepper, onion powder, minced garlic and seasoning salt. Sometimes I add Greek seasoning or dill. You can put in anything else that you want as well. Tomatoes, mushrooms, olives, cheese of any type, onions, whatever you like in your salad. Lisa

Everyone in my family has been asking for spaghetti and meatballs so that is what we will have! I got crescent rolls yesterday at Costco for a great price so I'll be serving those too!

I'm back home after a week away, so it's a Home Chef recipe for us tonight. Healthy Takeout Orange Chicken with Jasmine Rice, Dried Chiles, and Ginger-Sesame Spinach Salad.
Looking forward to it!
