If you were to marry tomorrow, would you choose the same dress? What would be the same? What would be different?
I think I would. Mine was spaghetti strapped and had some detail, but not too much. I loved my flowers and wish there would have been a way to preserve them.

If I could chose again. It would be more wedding dress-y. Mine was very informal (but my shoes were cute, and cost several times more than my dress. I love shoes!). Something with a bit of bling, perhaps mermaid style.

I definitely would choose something different. Mine was all satin but had cutouts that looked like lace and long sleeves. I could barely move my arms! I might change what shoes I wore too. My husband is only an inch and a half taller than me, so I wore Keds.

I got married at the Courthouse...I just wore "a little black dress." Very classic and can be used for other occasions. So yes.

I don't do heals typically, so I only wore them for the ceremony and then changed into Keds for the reception.

No - I liked my dress, but I got married in 1978 and styles have changed.

I was an early '90s bride so my dress had really puffy sleeves. That part definitely wouldn't be my choice today. However, I loved the lace on it (alencon). The fabric was a non-shiny taffeta that seemed to be hard to find back then - I did not want shiny satin and that would still be my preference. I'd probably still want the big poof, princess style skirt.

Oh goodness yes I would chose something else. Mine was late 70's solid lace, long sleeved, high necked, big bow in back of the waist, HOOP SKIRT! and no train.

I still love my dress, but I would take the poof out of the sleeves. I secretly hope my daughter might choose to wear it when she gets married.

I think it would have been neat to have a longer train and a little more poof.

I might choose differently. Mine was clearance, off the rack. I got it because the other one they had on clearance was too heavy for a July wedding. My dress was the default dress. Then again, I did not care much about the dress or wedding. I wanted to get married in a long flowy skirt, barefoot in the backyard. My mom wanted a show so I got that dress for her show. We had little money and she did nothing to plan or help, but she got her show, with the reception at a place that had garbage cans all over because of a leaky roof.
She did not even go dress shopping with me. I went with my moh. We should have had the tea wedding we really wanted.
Still married 26 years later, so there is that.

Yes. I would chose a dress with color. Not just white. About a year or two after I was married I saw the very dress I would have loved in a store window in town. I still think about that dress. I wish I had though more out of the box and less traditional. I was young and easily swayed by what other thought would be "appropriate" My wedding dress was lovely though, it just didn't reflect my personality.

Probably - we had a casual outdoor wedding, so I didn't wear a traditional wedding dress. My MIL was appalled that I didn't have a white dress, but with my coloring white would have looked horrible, and I'm so short that an elaborate dress would have been overpowering.

Heck no! I made my dress, partly to save money. I'd go all out if I was doing it over.

I'd choose the same dress. It was just "me" and I felt like a million bucks in it.

I got married in 1980 and my mother in law made mine from a 1950's photo of a wedding dress I showed her. Very full, lots of lace, long sleeves and lots of pearls. I would probably choose it again!

Yes. My dress was hand made...it was cream with a sweetheart bodice overlayed with long lace sleeves and covering my shoulders, finishing with a little satin edged round neckline, little pearl buttons up the back. It was a slim skirt with tiers of lace scooped up towards the back into a small bustle secured with fabric roses. Sounds hideous probably but I'd had a magazine picture for about 10 years and I was determined to have the dress I'd loved for that long.

I'd choose mine again! I love my dress. I've been tempted to take it out of it's "sealed" box to see what it looks like. I got married in '88.

I love my wedding dress, but I think it was meant for someone with more of a figure and I am shaped like a pencil. I should have chosen something that would have helped make me look less like a stick figure. I hate how I look in most of my pictures.

I wore my hat askew, and I would definitely go back in time and put it on straight. Argggggggg. Otherwise, mine was a peplum suit, so it is definitely of the era I married, I'd probably go for a more timeless version now.

I'd wear mine again. It was sleeveless and had some decorative crystals and pearls around the waist and down the back. I love that dress. I too hope my daughter will wear it one day. My bridal portrait hangs in our stairwell. When she was little she thought I was a princess dressed for a ball.

I really liked my dress at the time, but I was really constrained by lack of money. If I could go back in time and have more money, I'd love to know if I'd choose differently or not. It would be nice to have the choice, kwim? I think I might have chosen differently. I really like wedding gowns with color. I also wanted no train or a detachable train. I might have also chosen something a little more form fitting, maybe. I had a great figure in those days and wish I had some pics to show that fact now that I'm old and 40 pounds overweight! LOL (I'm not talking one of those trashy see-thru corset dresses, just something tastefully form fitting like a mermaid style.)
If you're asking about tomorrow -- as in July 22, 2014 -- at my current age and weight? I'd be going to a courthouse in street clothes or a beach in jeans and a tee-shirt. I've already done the BBW and enjoyed it, but don't need to do it again.

I still love mine and would pick it again. ETA: I actually just scanned my wedding planning notebook this weekend (after 15 years - ack!) and it included the picture of my dress from a bridal magazine. I loved it in this picture and had to track it down to try it on - and I still loved it. So although I kept shopping and must have tried on 20 more dresses after that, I ended up buying the first thing I tried on

I got married 24 years ago. the dresses then were almost as poufy as the one princess Di wore. the sleeves were certainly huge. so no, I probably would not wear the same dress again. at this age, I would probably wear a cute, off-white cocktail suit. as nice as my veil was, I would skip the veil altogether this time.

I loved my flowers and wish there would have been a way to preserve them. I actually kept my flowers. for 20 years at least. I didn't have them professionally preserved but they dried beautifully in a box. when I was packing to move a few years ago, I found that box. I wondered what the point of keeping it was so I took one last photo with my bouquet and then I threw it away.

My husband and I got married in 2009 and I would absolutely wear my beautiful yellow dress again. I loved it and so did my husband.

I got married 5 years ago and I would not pick the same dress. I was over-weight and embarrassed that they wouldn't have anything to fit me. I just wanted something that would fit and look decent. I would definitely try harder to find something that was "my style" now.

Probably not. My mom made my dress and it was much simpler than I wanted. It looks quite stylish right now 20 years later because mermaids are back in style and I didn't do the big poufy sleeves because, as my mother put it, puff sleeves make me look like a football player. So now I have a very classic looking dress with just a bit of lace and tame sleeves. I felt boring and plain in it at the time. It was a very basic dress. It didnt' help that I got overruled on my bridesmaids dresses as well. Those ended up absolutely horrible.
