... recommend? i bought the one at Trader Joe's and don't like it. There is one spice I really dislike - possibly anise. Thanks!

I like Numi Rooibos Chai the best. It is herbal, but tastes very similar to a black tea chai. It has a nice amount of warm spice, but, not too much.

I really like Tazo brand Chai tea. I haven't tried too many other brands though.

I know what you mean about too much spice. I'll be watching this thread because I haven't found a bagged one I like.
I like to make 8 oz of chai tea and put it in the bullet with 1 scoop of vanilla protein powder for a protein 'latte' but the chai I liked Isnt made anymore.

Pukka is my absolute favourite bagged tea. They have a couple of chai varieties.

I also like the Numi Rooibos Chai. Numi makes a Golden chai if you want black tea and not herbal, but I don't like it as well because it's less spicy to me. So you might like it. Tazo is ok. I love chai that is really fragrant.

I haven't had the chai tea bags from Trader Joe's so I don't know how this compares, but I LOVE the powdered chai from TJ's that comes in a canister and make a chai latte with it almost every day. I am a Starbucks chai latte addict and this one comes closest to being that good. Before I discovered that one, I really liked Bigelow Vanilla Chai tea bags.
Good luck finding one that works for you, I know how hard the search is since each brand tastes so different!

I love Bigelow's Vanilla Chai. I will have to try some of the other brands mentioned here.

Not sure what tastes too spicy to you--it's all so objective!--but I am sitting here drinking Bigelow Spiced Chai (teabag) and it's got a very pleasant taste. No anise that I can detect.

I'm enjoying a cup of Celestial Seasons Bengal Spice. I don't like anything too spicy and this is yummy.

I like Teavana's Samari chai. It's loose tea, but I just make my own tea bags with purchased filter bags. it's easy.
For bagged tea, we've liked Tea India's masala chai tea. Comes in a large red & yellow box. I might have found it at the Indian or Oriental grocery. I cant remember. Inexpensive but it is strong enough without the overpowering spice of some chai teas and good plain or with milk.

Thanks for all of your recommendations. I'll definitely be buying and trying some of them! I love spicy chai, there is just some flavor in the TJs brand that I find really off-putting. Can't quite put my finger on it. Fenugreek, maybe? moonglowe21, I love the liquid Chai concentrate at TJs, great flavor. I want to make my own chai from teabags because I find the concentrate much too sweet. I do like some sweetener, but I want to use xylitol instead of anything else.

For teabags, I like Stash double spice chai. I usually brew it with a couple extra cardamom.

I like Stash Double Spice Chai black tea. I don't drink it black, though -- it really tastes best with a splash of milk or cream in it. There's no anise in it, which I don't care for, either.

I like Tazo. If I want a "latte" I like to steep the tea in my nutribullet cup, then add a little almond milk and a scoop of vanilla protein (I use Vega protein plus greens or vega essentials). Mix up and it is yummy! And only 100 calories and healthy.

I just got a sample of Twining Chai and one of pumpkin Chai from Epcot and they were both very good. I tried Bigelow Chai today and it was good too. I used half and half and splenda. These were the only times I've tried tea bag Chai (always used the powder before) and I really liked it.
