"I'm not Leeeeesaaaa..." Remember that song? Decidedly 70s, so I am sure that contributed to it. I am indeed a Lisa, born in 1969, and I have made the same observation as you. It all went down hill after Lisa Marie Presley. LOL

Yep, I do...and she's from Iowa! I was born in '68. I believe it was the most popular name that year and several years surrounding it. Growing up, there were so many Lisa's in my classes that I was known as Lisa M. I really disliked having such a common name. We gave our children uncommon, but classic names so that there wouldn't be three or four in the same classroom every year. It really did cause a lot of confusion for me. Doesn't seem to matter as much to me now.

My ex-sil is a Lisa, born early 70's.
There's a Lisa in one of my boys' grades, so there's one born in 2000 - 2002.

I'm a Lisa. Born in 1965. I know only one other Lisa and she was in my 6th grade class. L Same with me, and all the Lisas I know were born around the same time. There were three of us in my class, I hated that.

Almost every Lisa I have known was born around 1962- 1965. I do know one that was born in 1958. I can't recall a single child named Lisa in my children's age group. Never really thought of that until this post. On a side note, my daughter is named Amy and she is nearly 19. We never encountered another Amy in that age group until her sophomore year of high school. My daughter was named after Amy Grant and her House of Love album.

I have taught for 27 years and I cannot recall maybe more than one Lisa. Lots of names are 60's and 70's. I am a Nancy and everyone named Nancy I know is also a 60's or 70's baby. Don't feel too badly. Lots of names from the 40's (maybe earlier?) are coming back into style. Lisa and Nancy will return!

Every Lisa I know was born between 1964 and 1974 I know about 6 of them Same here. I know a lot of people named Lisa. Many of the teachers and mothers at our childrens' school are named Lisa (or a variation on that name: Leesah, Leseh, Leisa, Leeza). Almost all were born in the late 1960s or early 1970s, although a friend of mine named her DD (now 15) Lisa.
I also know a woman in her late 60s named Lisa who named her daughter Leseh, who in turn named her dd Leisa. Makes it very confusing when trying to address someone in their family.

My childhood nemesis was named Lisa! She was in my class, so she'd be 37 now. Funny story starring childhood nemesis Lisa: I'll never forget the time in our early elementary years that she tried to tell me that she was supposed to be in the Olympics representing the U.S.A. in the jump rope event (that's the part that really cracks me up...jump rope event?? Really??). She swore that she was good enough and had, in fact, already been officially chosen to go, but that she'd had to drop out at the last minute because the jump ropes that they provided at the Olympics were too long for her to use. I also know two more Lisas that were born in the 70s, plus one Lisa that's pretty young---in her 20s, I'd guess.

My name is Lisa and I was born in 1964. My mom lived in a small town and had only heard the name once so she thought it was original. Then she moved to Amarillo and there were 8 Lisas in the church nursery. I've also noticed that usually "Lisas" are around my age.

I think Lisa was like the Emma and Isabella of the late 50s and early 60s. I went to school with a bunch of Lisas.

Is Lisa such a weird name that no one is naming their kids it? I always thought it was such a cool name growing up. I still think it's a pretty name. I know 2 ladies named Lisa and both were born during the time period you mentioned.

Is Lisa such a weird name that no one is naming their kids it? I think names have always been that way. My mother is 78 and a Patricia (Pat). I've lost track of how many times she's introduced me to her friend "Pat". It was the Susan/Debbie/Lisa of the 1930's apparently! My mom is 80 and a Pat/Patti/Patricia. I know several Lisas but they are all around my age-52- so born in the 60s.

We were probably in 5th grade...6th grade at the absolute latest. (because by the time we reached Junior High...7th grade...we were no longer speaking LOL) She told me that she had gotten pregnant...with Leif Garrett's baby.
Seriously...5th or 6th grade and she knew enough to make a false claim.
What a skank.
