There. I said it. I don't get the whole thing of stuffing bread and seasoning into the bird and then eating it.
LOL

Well, it also has celery and onions, so that improves the taste. And lots of butter. Stuffing done inside the bird is always better than the extra that is cooked in a casserole dish.

Blasphemy!! That is hands down my most favorite part of Thanksgiving. I make it both in the bird and an extra crockpot full. I use celery, onions, poultry seasoning (thyme, rosemary, sage, marjoram), a full stick of butter, a couple loaves of stale bread (open the bread bag up and let the bread sit out overnight so it gets a little crunchy) and chicken broth (veggie broth for the crockpot portion for my vegetarian sister). So good!!

I love it, but my mom makes some in the bird and some out and mixes them together. It is not mushy at all. My favorite part of Thanksgiving dinner. Now, mashed up sweet potatoes I can do without. Not the kind with marshmallows or the kind with coconut and cereal crunches on top.

It should be neither soggy or mushy! It should be crispy around the edges and flavorful from the onions, apples, sage, etc. mmmm, low carb be damned on T-day.

Nothing reminds me more of my mother than her stuffing recipe. It was just a simple recipe (with a good amount of butter), but it is just so good. I don't put mine in the bird anymore.

I only like stove top stuffing. I've yet to have good from scratch stuffing. I get a bad aftertaste from Stove Top. I guess we all just like what we like. I think your way would take less time though. That is a bonus.

My family loves the Stove Top cornbread stuffing (cooked in a pot, not stuffed in the turkey). I use real butter and add sauteed celery and onion. My soon to be son-in-law especially loves this so I always make a lot extra so he and my daughter can take some home.

I love, love dressing but I make mine with cornbread and no white bread in it at all. It poured into a roast pan and cooked until firm with crispiness on top and on the sides. My family would not consider it a family holidy dinner if I did not make it.

I wish I could say the same thing. I wish I hated bread and stuffing. Bread is my nemesis. Me too. Hence the name CARBlover. I love them, however, they don't love me. Or maybe they do love me so much so they take up permanent residence on my ass. Nevertheless, stuffing will be on my plate.

Me too. I have never understood the appeal of eating soggy stale bread. Blech. Ironically, I could just about live on stuffing but despise croutons. I don't see the appeal of eating dry stale bread. Go figure. I mean seriously, who thought of taking this assembly of lovely fresh vegetables, and then said "You know what would make it better? Old dried up chunks of bread, people!"
