I'm intrigued by a post I saw on Instagram by some planner person (didn't screen shot it, so not sure who!). It was a bible with wide margins and she had done lettering with pens/watercolors in the margin. I'd like to try this and was looking at a few options online... Does anyone have one they really like? Have you found the paper to be thick enough?
Thanks! Taylor

I know Patter does bible journaling; she doesn't post on NSBR as often as some of us (lol!), but maybe she'll see the notification on this and give you some input!

There have been several threads about Bible journaling over on the general scrapping board. You might want to look there for some info. I know we had a discussion about who used which Bible and why they liked it. Also look on YouTube...I know I've seen someone do a video about the different types of inks they used and which were more likely to bleed through, etc.

Personally, I prefer the NIV version of the Bible. I'm waiting until the end of December to buy a journaling Bible because a NIV will be released then. The pages are supposed to be thicker than regular Bible pages, but I don't know for sure since I haven't seen it yet.
Until then, I've gone to a couple Bible journaling classes and watched a few YouTube videos to get ideas.
If you Google "Bible journaling" you'll get lots of ideas.

I know Patter does bible journaling; she doesn't post on NSBR as often as some of us (lol!), but maybe she'll see the notification on this and give you some input! Thanks for tagging me. Yes, I do a lot of Bible Journaling. A link to my pages is in my siggie below. On some of the posts I do share how I complete the page. One tip, many, many people use clear gesso on their page first to prevent bleed through. I do not recommend gesso. A lot of gessos have too much grit (tooth) that just ruins the page to me. Gesso is a primer that I use in my art journaling books but not my Bible. I sometimes use Ranger Matte Medium in my Bible. Works amazing, prevents bleed through, and keeps the page smooth. I also do a lot of work "off the page" by creating words and titles on other mediums and putting them into my Bible. Here is an example: Gosh I hope you can see that. LOL! Anyway, the flowers were done on tissue paper, the words on newsprint paper, and then all glued onto the margin. For many more photos (and larger) scroll to the end of this post: triplethescraps.blogspot.com/2015/10/glory-art-scripture-challenge-18_25.htmlAlso, here is a post on how I create text blocks for the pages: triplethescraps.blogspot.com/2015/10/glory-art-scripture-challenge-18_25.htmlAs far as the paper being thicker in the Bible Journaling Bibles, not so much but maybe a "hair." I have 3 different journaling Bibles I use, and there is not much of a noticeable difference. Feel free to let me know if you have more questions. My Journaling Bible posts always lists the products I use too. That link is in my signature. Let me know if you have more questions. Have fun!
