Ok, I know this is lame.... But I specifically made a (tiny) extra donation so I could get a "prettier" map. The helpful docent used her highlighter to mark our complete path, AND the three available trolley circuits.
She apparently thinks flourishes are good.
I realize I'm shallow, she was trying to help. I told myself our route was memorialized, so it's scrap worthy. But I almost ripped the fluorescent green pen from her hand when she started adding the trolleys, and circling restaurants.
My family thinks I'm crazy so venting. Hopefully somebody understands my first world gripe. What's yours?

You're not crazy. I would have to get a second, UNMARKED, map for the scrapbook. That would really tick me off!

Lol, I don't blame you for griping. Fluorescent green? Who has paper that blends with that? And it probably clashed with the colors on the map, right?
Here's mine: Please don't just randomly rip my ticket apart. Tear it carefully so that my remaining piece is pristinely scrap-worthy.

I preplan outfits to match premade layouts. No judgement.

I understand and validate you!
DH threw away my "good" pristine copy of the Disneyland park map that I was going to use on a layout. Dude was in the doghouse for that one!
I get excited when DS's friends accidentally coordinate with what he's wearing and our activity. Those pictures are always fun to scrap! On the Flipside, I was kind of miffed when DS's friend was wearing a springy lavender dress at the pumpkin patch. Lol! I kid, I kid, but it does make things more challenging.

It is summer here. We usually have 30 deg C weather at Christmas so I fill the closed-combustion fire "box" with pinecones and battery operated light strings. So far so good, buuuut, my wire Baobab African Chrismas tree is white. The fire box is black. Humpf.

I would have to get a second, UNMARKED, map for the scrapbook. Definitely! My vent: Too many electronic printout tickets for things like museums and such. I want a pretty ticket stub to use in my scrapbook. Also, map and program quality has gone down hill. I'm tired of being handed scrap-worthy items that are printed on copy paper. I love the look of glossy pamphlets.

Very tough to use as an embellishment!

I agree with the map and program quality but they don't get me going nearly as much as the ticket printouts that fade in months or when they give you a good quality one but then take the whole thing!

My silly vent - When I'm at a public place such as the zoo and I'm trying to take a picture of my girls and some dude with a bright, neon blue shirt innocently steps into the background of the picture. I think to myself, "Come on dude, move! Please move out of the picture. Your shirt doesn't match what my girls are wearing and it's going to stick out." So, I try to wait until the dude moves and by that time my girls are over having their picture taken.

I got a great looking pamphlet from the San Francisco Botanical Garden and DH accused me of caressing it but I didn't care. Also, I really hate that the movie tickets I'm getting lately are so thin and cheap looking. Don't they understand what they're doing to my layouts???

Don't make me surrender special Christmas coupons or gift cards once used. I might want to use them in December Daily!

Don't make me surrender special Christmas coupons or gift cards once used. I might want to use them in December Daily! I have used a gift card in a layout about a local restaurant we love. The waitress always takes the card and if there is nothing left on it the card does not come back to you. I was too embarrassed to ask for an empty card back so I went one time and purposely ordered certain items so I would have a small balance and get the card back. I considered my card a 95 cent embellishment.

My son and I took a bus two hours to go horseback riding in the ocean in Jamaica. His main goal was for me to get a picture of him looking like the Old Spice commercial dude. I had a perfect shot of my son and can ride well enough to stay on a horse plunging in the ocean and still turn around and get a few good shots. I really didn't notice until later that his horse went a little too deep and appeared to be drowning. It was like an Old Spice bloopers reel.

When we travel I always take about 6 large Zip locks. When we get a pamphlet I always take an extra (when possible) and put it in the ziplock right away. I have also been known to take a skinny Iris 12 x 12 container in case I find paper or larger embellishments. I'm a tiny bit OCD with this stuff.

I do have to say I was disappointed the last time we went, they are much flimsier than they were 10+ years ago. I have one that I cut up in a scrapbook from 12 or 13 years ago that was really nice paper. Now they are magazine paper feeling.

Mine does exactly the same and by now he really sees the advantage of having two maps/brochures. He has even started telling the concierges not to mark anything on those maps, so I have two to play with

We are flying a lot and the tickets you get nowadays are fading so quickly, so after a trip I usually copy them, to use on my layouts/in my albums later on. Is that crazy???

I want a pretty ticket stub to use in my scrapbook. Also, map and program quality has gone down hill. I'm tired of being handed scrap-worthy items that are printed on copy paper. I love the look of glossy pamphlets. I have started taking a screen print of them into paint, reducing 2 tickets together into a 4 x6 size and then having them printed with my photos. So when they come back with my photos I cut them apart into my 2 tickets. So they are more "ticket size" to scrap about the event. Am I weird? Makes me happy !

Normally I'm really bad about getting around to scanning stuff that I'm pretty sure will fade, but I made a point to do it with my ultrasound photos of DD and saved / backed them up digitally. I *KNEW* I would absolutely kick myself around the block if I didn't preserve those images and they faded. (And LOL, they still aren't scrapbooked yet, and said baby is now 5.5 years old...) I probably should get on that!

Oh, I would have had to buy another map. DH knows to always take two maps or two brochures. One to use and one to scrapbook. And he knows not to fold the scrapbook one! My SO is also well trained - he usually picks up half a dozen extra maps just in case any of them get damaged. You would love the ones from Hampton Court Palace - the tickets are beautiful to look at with images of past kings and famous buildings, and the maps are more like mini guide books. My favourite though is the scratch and sniff map.
