For those of you looking for gift suggestions - if you have someone who cooks and has a Kitchenaid stand mixer, a Kitchenaid Spiralizer attachment kit would be an awesome gift. It is 95% metal, with only a bit of plastic and looks like it will last as long as your mixer. The blades are all dishwasher safe. It has a peeler blade, so it peels And/or spiralizes. I just used mine to peel my apples for apple pie. It sells for around $99, so isn't cheap. Kohls sells it ( link), so you can always use discount codes and Kohl's cash, if you have some, to bring the price down. It also sells at BB&B, so if you are going there for BF, you can pick it up there for whatever percent off they are using for BF.

Hi Elaine, I was wondering what else you can use it for? I don't think I'd needed to spiralize anything, well, ever...so it looks to me like a spendy apple peeler? I sure do love gadgets for the KA though, and I'm glad you love yours!
On that note, I did take advantage of Macy's recent sale on all Kitchen Aide and accessories and got me the citrus juicer attachment for just under $20 so I am really excited go get it, hopefully soon! I didn't even know that existed for the KA!
I seriously use a lot of citrus in my cooking, baking and I really dislike having to manually juice a couple of lemons for a recipe. My wrists and hands just aren't that strong like they used to be. I debated getting a nice Braun juicer like Ina Garten uses all the time. But..another appliance? So the juicer attachment is a win win for me, as the KA sits on my counter all the time. I sure do love that thing!

I love mine! I admit to looking around to find what else I could spiralize just because I like watching it.

Yvonne, as much as I love enabling, I don't think you need it if you don't peel apples or potatoes and don't spiralize. I do both, so it is great! I also have the strainer attachment that I use to process tomatoes in the summer for canning, and it is amazing. So much better than a standard food mill. I love Kitchenaid!

Well, I do peel potatoes, but not normally more than say 4 at a time. Same with apples, I don't make apple dishes that often. And yeah, I don't spiralize so okay, I've talked myself out of it. Aww, cause I really wanted an excuse to get one, it sound so cool! I still use the PC apple corer slicer thing and it works fine for the say 6 times a year I need it. Thank you for helping me out with that, you know, enabling Queen you!

Ooooh, I want that! I'm a lame-o who likes to get kitchen and house gadgets for Christmas. I don't have any attachments for my Kitchenaid, and I've had it for 20 years. That's just not right!

It looks interesting but I know it isn't something I'd continue using. $99 is too much for me to spend for something that'd end up taking valuable storage space and rarely getting used. I can peel apples and potatoes manually pretty dang fast Now the juicer I could get behind because I have always used fresh juices in baking and cooking.

I'm thinking about replacing the pasta in our life with spiralized vegetables. Am I right that this also does slices as well. I have a food processor but...

That's cool! Added to my wish list. On my last trip, I bought a new apple peeler/slicer/corer but didn't have enough room in my suitcase so gave it to my DD. This is even better! And if veggies spiralized are better than pasta, that's a bonus.

I checked this out and Amazon has it (what appears to be regular price) for $75. I'm sure Kohl's would beat that, especially if someone had some Kohl's Cash, but just thought I'd mention it. It looks like a pretty neat gadget.

Oh no, I have $90 in Kohls Cash burning a whole in my pocket. I made a pact with myself to not buy anything for me while Christmas shopping. I better find some other awesome Kohls gifts or I may cave.

Oh man, I sure wish I had known about this attachment before I bought my spiralizer! I have a few attachments for my Kitchenaid and they are all well made workhorse gadgets. I even found a meat grinder and citrus juicer, new condition, at a yard sale for .25. The woman was worried that she didn't have the machine to sell with it, so she basically gave them away.
I may need to sell my Inspiralizer and get this instead. It will undoubtedly last and take less cupboard space.
Elaine, I should probably check with you before I buy things in the future.

I had a Paderno spiralizer and replaced it with a Kitchen Aid attachment and I have had no regrets about doing so. In addition to using it to make spiralized veggie noodles, I use it a TON for spiralizing onions to make french onion soup.
If you are considering a spiralizer and have a Kitchen Aid mixer, it is the way to go for sure.

I'm thinking about replacing the pasta in our life with spiralized vegetables. Am I right that this also does slices as well. I have a food processor but... It won't make slices like a food processor, because it cores the veggie as it goes down, so potatoes, using the wide blade will end up with a long spiral that you make one cut through and get rings that resemble apple rings. Does that make sense? So, it depends on what you need slices for, for most dishes it would be a-okay.

I went and watched a good youtube demo and now have one sitting in my Kohl's cart...

Will it make curly fries? I've been looking into getting a spiralizer for zucchini noodles and I think curly fries are the same process? Not sure...

It's no longer available at Kohls. So I went on Amazon and it was $75.00. I think it was just yesterday, my husband did the purchase. We used Coke rewards to get an amazon gift card and points from our Amazon card so it was around $45. Now it's up to $99, but it might not hurt to keep an eye on it at Amazon.

My sister hinted she wanted a Kitchenaid spiralizer for Christmas and I told her I didn't know she had a Kitchenaid mixer. She asked me why she would need one. I told her what she is asking for is an attachment. She replied, "Oh it's not a stand alone gadget?" Needless to say she's getting something else for Christmas.

Hmm... it looks like something I would use. But it's $132 on Canadian amazon. Not sure if it's worth that to me. It's not on sale here - so I will give it some thought.

I ended up getting it with my Kohl's cash and about $20 extra. So I'm sure it is worth that. Now to reorganize the Kitchen to use it. I do wonder if I would have gotten more use out of the food processor attachment (even though I already have a food processor).
