I want to get portable iPhone charges for my kids for Christmas. What brand have you had luck with? Are there any I should avoid?

I purchased the same one linked above for a gift this year. I based my purchase on the favorable rating.

I've had great luck with that one.

Yup I also have the Jackery charger.
I bought a cheapie from Target and it only holds about enough charge to juice my phone halfway. The Jackery will charge it all the way and still have some left over. Good charger.

Thanks for the suggestions! I didn't feel like wading through all the reviews and different options.
Love the peas!

I have a Mophie 4x charger. It's great and charges my phone 4x and my iPad about 1.5x.

DD has had the Anker one linked above for a while now and it's great. It does get really hot sometimes, though.

Another vote for the Jackery. We have a different one but same brand and it's awesome.

How heavy is the jackets one? Can you carry it in your pocket/purse?

I love my Mophie! ETA I see Mophie makes cheaper models, too - they may also be good, I don't know, but I do love the one linked!

After a post last year about the Jackery, I bought them for everyone's stocking. They are GREAT. My daughter was hospitalized many times earlier this year, and my Jackery worked great while I stayed at the hospital with her. My girls keep theirs in their backpacks at school, and they are great to have on hand if needed. Everyone likes them!

Another Anker buyer here. We have a couple different ones, and other Anker tech products (cords, multi-outlet power blocks, etc.) and they've all been great.
