There are only 6 of us and I am so tired of the same old, same old. We usually have ham, sausage, pierogies, potatoes, etc. Basically the same meal we have for Easter. I'd love to hear what everyone else has.
Thanks, Ann

Pizza! Sometimes we make homemade, sometimes not. This year I think we'll do Papa Murphy's take and bake. We do a ham, etc when my brother and his family are in town before Christmas. But Christmas Day it's just me and my parents so we like to go casual.

We either have our dinner on christmas eve or christmas day, depending on if brother's family is in town. It's always lasagna for the actual dinner. It can be made ahead of time, throw a side salad and lots of garlic bread. We still make it "fancy" with candles and place settings but I love its a no fuss meal.
Otherwise we do all appetizers / snacky foods on the day we don't have dinner. That is even more low key and we all enjoy the day hanging out and watching movies.

We usually repeat the Thanksgiving meal. But this year we are ordering our favorite brisket from a barbeque place in TX. We have it shipped, and it is awesome. We will then have the usual sides--corn casserole, sweet potato casserole, stuffing, rolls, and cranberries.

Hmmmm, whatever's in the fridge I guess We don't do a Christmas dinner. We usually have a pot of soup, turkey or ham for sandwiches at my mom's house Christmas Eve since we all go over there for the night. We spend the night and then get up and open gifts the next morning. We have a large breakfast after we open our gifts and then we all start heading home between 12-2'ish. Our Christmas gathering starts the night before and lasts so long that we are usually too tired for a huge dinner

We go to a steakhouse for dinner so that's what we have. We used to go to DH's aunt's house and she made lasagna, chicken cutlets, sausage & peppers plus some veggies, salad, bread, etc. DELISH!! Growing up we would have fresh ham with potatoes, veggies, bread, etc.

It is different every year. We have had prime rib, steaks, lobster, crab legs, and lasagna. I prefer prime rib. We never have turkey since we just had it the month before.

Chili, Fritos, baked potatoes and Mac and cheese. We don't eat ALL of it...those are all just options to put the chili on.

Christmas ham and cornbread dressing. We make enough dressing at TG to freeze for Christmas. We rotate other sides. Depends on our mood. This year we'll probably have sweet potatoes, corn casserole, potatoes au gratin, roasted brussel sprouts with bacon, green beans, squash.

Tamales, rice, beans, lots of cookies and sweets. But the tamales are the main attraction!

Turkey, biscuit dressing, gravy, cranberry sauce, bacon wrapped small sausages, roast potatoes, yorkshire Pudding (that's demanded by DH for any special meal), peas, carrots, Brussel sprouts, leeks, Swede (Rutabaga) mash, green beans and then we have Roast Beef, roast potatoes, Yorkshire Pudding and the rest of the veg from Christmas day on Boxing Day. That's just a meal for 5

A traditional German Christmas Goose with all the trimmings. I haven't made this meal in a long time, but it will be good.
Red cabbage & apple (hot), hot potatoes that is cubed with butter & parsley, and a few other sides.
Dessert is a Black Forest Cake, that I make from scratch and uses a quart of 35% cream for inbetween the layers and to decorate the cake. I have the Kirsch Wasser (cherry liquor) to soak the cherries (that I picked this summer and are frozen) that is used in the filling.

We've always done prime rib, potatoes, corn. But FIL passed away in Feb and since that was his favorite, we decided to do something different this year. He was really traditional and liked staying with the same meal each year. We're going to have spaghetti & meat sauce, homemade by dh. And tollhouse pie for dessert.

For many years it was another turkey dinner similar to Thanksgiving, but the last few years we have moved to some combination of beef & seafood. Last year it was filet mignon and Alaska King Crab and I think that is the plan for this year.

Since it's just us three and I don't love cooking another big dinner a month after Thanksgiving, we've joined everyone else in the Chinese for Christmas. No cleanup! Otherwise lots of snacks and grazing. If I do cook, it's ham so it doesn't feel like Thanksgiving 2.0.

We do a potluck for the extended family on Christmas Day, so it's whatever anyone feels like making and bringing. We could have ham or something like that, but also casseroles.

If it's not snowing, we grill nice steaks.
In recent years, we've had homemade Chinese food. Mmmmm!

We had just gotten into having beef tenderloin for a few years when DH's brother developed a beef intolerance, right around the same time his wife went dairy and gluten free. We have done several years of turkey and mashed potatoes made with broth and margarine. They aren't joining us on Christmas Day this year so we are having beef tenderloin, Yorkshire pudding, and mashed potatoes made with plenty of milk and butter!
