I want to make the Santa Hat mix this year. I have all the ingredients for the Santa Hats and would like to have those made ahead of time and assemble the mix closer to when I want to package it up to share....
How far ahead do you think I could make the hats? I am using a caramel Bugel. It will be completely dipped in the red candy coating. I will be using the mini dehydrated marshmallows for the tops (not a regular mini- but a dehydrated one - like you get in the hot chocolate packs).
If I started making the hats this weekend, and stored them in a zippered bag with most of the air smooshed out, inside of a sealed container and stored in a cool room, do you think it is too early? I plan on using them and making the mix closer to Christmas.
I have so much baking to do, along with a few other big activities. I though it would make life easier to have these done up ahead of time...
So - what do you guys think? Too soon? Or go for it?
