Is there a chocolate mousse recipe out there that doesn't have eggs? I want to make a dessert that has a mousse component and if it were just my family I would not worry so much but it is for a group and I don't want to risk someone having an issue with the raw eggs.
Any recipes or suggestions? I really would not like to use a chocolate pudding. And honestly, I make chocolate pudding (homemade) all the time and it sets up thicker than a mousse would and probably wouldn't work for what I want.

You can buy eggs that are pasteurized in the shell, I believe. So no risk.

I've used this one for years. Hershey's Chocolate MousseMake sure you let the gelatin bloom as explained in step one, or it gets a funky texture.

There are also lots of recipes that use avocado to get the rich creamy flavours in place of the eggs. Google or search on Pinterest and find the combination of ingredients you like (some use cocoa powder, some use actual chocolate, some use coconut milk, some use almond milk) it just depends on what sort of flavours you prefer. Some examples: Salted Dark Chocolate Mousse - keep scrolling recipe is quite a bit down the page. or Avocado Chocolate Mousse with Raspberries or Avocado chocolate mousse tart - you could leave out the tart, or just make it with normal pastry if you want.
