I just wanted to put this out there, because I wasn't aware of it until recently.
Because I can only use one eye at a time to read, I have changed the theme for the board on my iPad to make it easier to read.
Using the blue theme I'm using changes the background of posts to a darkish steel blue and makes text that one hasn't changed the color of (default black) to white, making it much easier to read for people with reading difficulties.
For those of you who have chosen to change your default font color to something else, it doesn't automatically switch to white on the dark background. So, it is next to impossible to read your blue or purple text on a steel blue background. It may look great on a white/light background, but I have to cut and past it into my note app to read what you are saying, or I simply just pass over it because of the work involved.
I completely understand wanting to express individuality by choosing different font colors for posts, and I do not expect nor want you to change it for me. I just wanted to make people aware that choosing other colors can make your posts unreadable to some.

Is mine better? I had the purple theme, but changed it to the default. I wouldn't want you to avoid my fascinating posts!

But please don't do it for me if you really want to keep the purple font. I wish the all blue theme would change all font colors to white, but it doesn't. I do appreciate the change, so THANK YOU! (And don't feel bad if you want to change your font back)

I agree that the colors can be harder to read.
My two cents worth - no Comic Sans! I hate that font with a passion that is entirely unreasonable.

For some reason I find myself skipping over posts that are in purple or other colours (and I love purple!). I don't have any particular trouble reading it, I can't explain why I skip over them. This is especially for you oaksong !!!

I do too. I can't take anything in Comic Sans seriously; add in a bright color with it and it's straight up junior high.

Different coloured text annoys me for some reason. I have no idea why; I can read it easily enough, and it doesn't make me resent or dislike the poster or anything like that. It just seems like it's unnecessary, KWIM? I also tend to skip over green or purple or blue posts, but I feel guilty if I do.

A little off topic, but have checked out the accessibility features on your iPad, elaine? Not sure if you needed to change things up while you were healing, but I thought I would ask. Some of it might be overkill but might be worth checking out. Hope you are feeling better.

But the changes it makes to some colors/icons - turning them fluorescent is hard on my eyes too. I also have my font size turned all the way up! The "all blue" theme here is amazingly easy to read. I had the default theme, but was having trouble reading, so I tried all of them and loved this one. I won't go back even after my eyes get straightened out and I can use both at once. I am continuing to feel better all the time. I do back to Michigan in February for a check up and to schedule my strabismus surgery. That will be an easy one compared to these last two. I can't wait to start running again - I even dream about it.

I'm so glad you are feeling better. I'm sure it must be frustrating to hang out on the sidelines for awhile. Make sure you pick a spectacular race when you are all healed and ready to hit the pavement again. Disney Paris maybe???

Here's something dumb. I originally changed to the purple theme because I wanted a change and I like that one best of the alternative colors. I never realized that my font would be purple!! I've seen other posts in purple and just thought the person set it that way specifically. And yes, I am blonde.

When a user choose a different theme (I use green), it changes the color of the font in one's posts...but the writer can't see it? Am I reading that right?

Well if that's the case, I'm pretty confused too. Your posts are just a standard black, so I don't think changing your theme changes anything except how you view the page. It doesn't affect how others see your posts. Does it?

Every once in a while someone has a different color font here. It usually doesn't bother me, but if it does and I want to read it, I try to highlight all the text and see if that makes it more readable. Not sure how to do that on an ipad though.
