It is on TLC at 9 pm & 11 pm. It is going to be Cynthia Nixon. I am so glad that they are back again. I love this show I have loved it from the beginning I am so glad that tlc took it when network canceled it. I adore ancestry.com. I think their site is amazing After doing genealogy for 40+ yrs online & in person. It is like the perfect site that they keep adding to all the time.

I hope TLC doesn't ruin the show by sensationaling it, as that network is prone to do. It's a great show, though I question some of the people they choose.

I think that TLC had the show last year didn't it ? You are sure correct about who do they choose? I wonder how they do it. I do not know many of them either. I gladly help anyone who needs help in gen stuff & I do not know them either so it ok with me if I do not know them. lol

I really like this show, too. I'm not into genealogy, just fool around with Ancestry.com. But it sure is fascinating.
I would love to see them do a few shows for ordinary people who had extraordinary ancestors. Seems it would be just as interesting as ordinary ancestors of extraordinary people, don't ya think?

Thanks for the reminder. I love this show too although I thought it was slightly better the first year or two it was on.

I have my DVR set - I love this show and was happy when TLC picked it up last season too.

You are right about doing someone who was not famous but is related to someone famous or important. That would be cool too.

I've watched this a few times and enjoyed it too. I also hope TLC doesn't ruin it. I used to watch a lot of their shows when they were still The Learning Channel but stopped when I didn't like their programing anymore.

I love the UK version kf this programme. We often get the US version, about a year after it has aired over there. Always fascinating.

I loved it too.. I felt so sad for that poor woman who had to chop her husbands head off to save her life. The stuff she endured in prison was horrible.

I've watched this every season. It was on TLC last year and they hadn't changed the format at all. I like how they actually get some pretty famous people on it too. I find it all fascinating!
here is the line up for this year (not including last nights)
2 Jul 30 Jesse Tyler Ferguson 3 Aug 6 Rachel McAdams 4 Aug 13 Kelsey Grammer 5 Aug 20 Valerie Bertinelli 6 Aug 27 Lauren Graham
It's the only show I watch on TLC anymore.

I've never watched the show, but I got sucked into the marathon yesterday. Love it! Set it to record. Cynthia Nixon's story was fascinating.

I love this show! I actually forgot it was back on last night - imagine my surprise when I saw it on the dvr!!! I think all the stories are just so fascinating - I mean last night Cynthia Nixon's grandmother, 3x removed, was the 2nd woman in Missouri to ever bee incarcerated. That's just crazy - the poor woman to have to murder her husband because it was her only way out at that time. I was happy to see that she ended up living a long life, I just do hope it was a nice life after that ordeal. Oh, and the prison...wasn't that just awful? Those conditions that she was held in??

I was pleasantly surprised to see this on my DVR last night. Was such a fascinating and gut wrenching story Cynthia learned. Her families' history made history. Just tore at my pregnant heart strings upon learning of how her ggg grandmother suffered post-partum with her newborn without heat or adequate clothing.
And I just adore CN too.
