We have two housekeepers, they come together (they are cousins) once a week and do a full cleaning of our house. They also babysit at least once a month for our kids, so one of the huge pluses is that they can put away the kids toys if need be.
Anyhow. We have had them for a year and a half. We pay them very well weekly and when we go out of town they usually do a bunch of big projects that takes even more time/money than their normal duties. I have picked up a couple gifts for them, but I am wondering if I should be tipping them on top of that. They are just local women, no agency. Because of my referrals they have 6 new clients so I know I am bringing them business. But I just want to make sure that I am being appreciative!

The traditional tip for housekeepers is the amount = to one cleaning.

What's the value of the gifts?
I'm going with the value of 1 cleaning for my cleaning ladies (total - split between them). But I am doing it in gift cards because that just feels slightly more appropriate to our relationship/interactions than cash.

Cash equal to an extra paycheck. If you pay them weekly, then an extra week's pay.
In addition to any gift you want to give them.

I did an extra week's pay, but they aren't cleaning over Christmas, so they are basically getting a paid day off.

I always thought the tradition was two weeks pay. So if they come every week it would be like two more pay checks. My lady only comes every other week so I give her a little over an extra visit ($100)
