I've got four credits sitting in my Audible account and could use some suggestions for really good audio books. (I think I prefer actual reading to listening which explains the unused credits. I want to cancel my subscription but if I don't use the credits then I lose them :/ )
Thanks!

Do you like Sara Bareilles (the singer)? Her book Sounds Like Me is on Audible and she narrates it. I really enjoyed listening to her share her story. In between each essay (chapter) she sings one of her songs acoustic which is wonderful.
I am listening to Girl on the Train right now and I just downloaded Where All Light Tends to Go for my long drive to Vegas in a few weeks.

The Golem and the Jinni This one is read by George Guidall and he reads if like he's telling a bedtime story. He is one of my favorite narrators. (I hope I spelled his name right--just going on memory!)
A Man called Ove and The Curiosity are two others I liked.
Rhondito, I have found that I prefer listening to humor rather than reading it. I loved Jen Hatmaker's most recent book, For the Love, but I don't think I would have enjoyed near as much by reading it.

I listen to at least 1 book a week. So there are lots I can suggest. This week I finished Orphan Train-I sure do love listening to an Irish accent. Love, Rosie-I just adore this book and I did enjoy the narration as well. Other books I recently finished that I enjoyed-Maybe in Another Life, I'll Give You the Sun, Everything I Never Told You and Tell the wolves Im Home I thought the Non fiction book How to Raise an Adult was the most worthwhile book I've spent any credits on. Excellent book and the author narrated. Also, will be happy to send you a book via One Book, just let me know.

Loved listening to Go Set a Watchman. It's read by Reese Witherspoon and she is perfect!

Everything I 'read' is via audiobook, so if you look at any of the reading threads (i.e. best 2015 books one from the last few days) any books that I mention are audio. I posted these on the best 2015 book thread:
All excellent narrations.
A little Life was my most recent and it blew me away (tough subject though)

The Museum of Extraordinary Things and The Dovekeepers by Alice Hoffman.
I'm also big a fan of Kate Morton.
Taylor Stevens' books are really good if you like thrillers. Start with The Informationist.
Mr Mercedes by Stephen King was good, as was 11-22-63.

I prefer to read books, but I've found that audio books really help curb my road rage on my long daily commute!
I loved Beautiful Ruins and The Price of Tides, and I liked Americanah. I've found that I'm very particular about the narrators and these were beautifully narrated. I'll also second I'll Give You the Sun.
I thought The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian was very well written, but I didn't love the narration. The author narrated it himself. I always wonder if an author is trying to save a few bucks when they choose to narrate instead of hiring a professional--unless the author is an actor or humorist. Amy Pohler's Yes, Please was great.

I liked Americanah too. This is an instance where it was very helpful for me to listen rather than read. It was good to hear the inflections of the characters voices. There is no way I would have gotten as much enjoyment as I did if I read the physical book.

My absolute favorite audio book ever is Terry McMillan's A Day Late and A Dollar Short. It's got multiple actors and it's touching and hilarious.
Another good one is Jodi Picoult's House Rules.
I love Audible!

I also recently enjoyed 'The Girl on the Train,' 'The Girl With All the Gifts,' 'Mr Penumbra's 24 Hour Bookstore,' and 'Ready Player One'.

I love Audible! I remember my mom saying how much she liked this book so I used my credit this month to purchase it. Thanks for the recommendation.
