I have one coming to me as part of a QVC TSV package (I broke my laptop on Saturday and I needed to replace it ASAP). Do you use yours? How many photos can you print before you need a refill? Do you like the quality?

I have a large format one and love it. I can't say how long it takes to replace a cartridge, because it really depends on what I am printing. I have the different colored tanks in mine, not the one multi color tank. I print 13x19 posters with mine and have printed over 20 posters in full color and still had almost half full ink tanks. I love mine!

I have one with the individual color tanks. When I was doing PL and doing all my printing at home, I went through 3 - 4 of each color tanks per year.

I have one with 5 individual storage tanks. I do almost all my photo printing at home now and love it. I'm pretty sure it is more expensive than having them printed by a service, but I do it for the convenience and the ability to print multiple sizes etc. I guess I replace ink cartridges about 3-4 times a year? Sorry don't really keep track.

. I'm pretty sure it is more expensive than having them printed by a service For my poster printing - it wasn't even in the ballpark. It was SO much cheaper. I printed on 13x19 and used high quality Canon poster paper. A full set of ink plus the package of poster paper cost $65. I used about half the ink, so I am going to say I used $25 worth of ink and $20 worth of paper - so it was $45 approximately to print them myself. If I did it at Walmart, it would have been over $117 for that many 11x14 posters (smaller size). I don't think you can probably print a lot of 4x6 cheaper, because there are so many more economical print options for that size - but if you are printing larger sizes, I think it is cheaper to do your own. The only think I don't like is that I can not print a true borderless 12x12. 12x12 is not a setting in the Canon menu so it won't print it borderless. I have added 12x12 to my printer defaults, but it will still not do it. I can print borderless 13x19 though.

I use mine and I love it. As others have said it might be more expensive but printing at hime is what works best for me. It is also cheaper than printing with the Canon Selphy and not to mention a lot more flexible. I get non-brand compatible cartridges and A4 Canon photo paper (the everyday use kind) and the quality is fine since the photos are going to be tucked in plastic sleeves anyway. I love that you can stamp on them with with any kind of ink unlike the super slick professional prints or the Canon Selphy prints.
When mine dies I am getting a large format one for sure!

I picked up the pixma pro-100 a couple of weeks ago. I did a ton of research before hand. The cost to print a 4 X 6 is 26 cents. I'm still using the inks that came with it and I've printed a ton of photos including borderless 13 X 19. In my old HP I'd probably be changing the color cartridge by now. I think the pixma is way more cost effective.

I think I am the odd man out on this. I have a Canon Pixma and I'm not impressed. The photo quality to me is just okay. I've owned Canon printers for years and I don't seem to ever get good photos. They seem too dark. I have to manually lighten them before printing and it's always a crapshot. I basically use it now just to print the kids homework and recipes. And I use the super cheap inks that I found on Amazon. Rather than paying $50 for a set, I paying under $10. I've asked Santa for an Epson Picturemate for my scrapbooking pictures. We'll see if he comes through.

I am on the verge of buying one. I have the MG7720. I use it for printing all my photos. I find them to be relatively true to what I see on my screen. The only thing I don’t love about it is that there’s no option that I can see for me to turn off or reduce the slight enlargement of borderless prints.

I have the MG5150 which is an older model but there’s probably something similar that’s current. I use mine for all my photos and think the colours are pretty accurate. I can print a range of sizes ordinary and borderless plus custom sizes eg I’ve set up 3x4 so I can just run PL cards through. I can also adjust the size of borderless margins.
I’d definitely buy another Pixma. This one must be 8 yrs old and is still going strong.

I also have the mg7720 and I am happy with the prints! I have no complaints and I've had it for a year.
