I completely agree with the host on her comments at the end of the segment - Heidi has handled her pain with vulnerability, hope and grace that is inspiring. It is hard to lose a child to suicide where the question of "could I have done more" constantly hangs over your head as a mother. I am so glad she has her faith, family, friends, and memories to lean on.

Death of a child is awful, the worst. Death by suicide is excruciating.

Thanks for sharing this link. Heidi Swapp is very brave. I'm in awe of how she is dealing with her grief as it must be so bone-deep. I'm glad she has the stories, pictures and good family memories.

That made me cry, what a tough thing for that family to deal with. Just heartbreaking! I used to follow her blog back when Cory was just a little boy.

Such a tragedy and she is handling it with courage and grace. I love the things the family is doing to honor Ana remember Cory.

I can't even imagine the pain. I can't watch. I am glad she had her faith and so much support.

I also started to.cry when I watched the segment. I can't imagine what she and her family have been through. She is right when she said -- stories are the only things that survive. They keep our loved ones alive.

And this is why I lost my shit when I couldn't find a folder of photos I had scanned in many years ago. Photos are so important to me. I know they aren't to everyone but to me they help me remember.
what an amazing lady.

She has handled this with such grace! Her grief must be inexplicable, but the way she is looking to the positive is so hope-filled.

Tears. So sad. I love how she can class up a wolf shirt, though- that did make me smile.

I thought I would be able to get through that without tears. HA! As soon as she referenced the Christmas tree, I was done.

I'm often so afraid to face the memories of loved ones I have lost. This video shows me that they can be comforting if I let them be...
