I've done my nails in a Christmas theme every week in December so far. It's been fun but I still have ideas I want to do and only one week left! I'm torn between doing a red/white/green color scheme with some glitter or going with dark colors and doing a sophisticated deer head/antler look. What do your holiday nails look like? Not doing holiday nails? Just share whatever polish you're wearing right now. The last time we had a polish thread someone asked for pics when I got my Madam Glam shimmer white polish. So here's the best pic of that I could manage. It worked out really nicely except I wish I chose a more red red and less of an orangey red. Attachments:

Madam Glam's soak off gel polish in "Rich Cornell". It's about a week old, so it is getting a little worn.

I have Zoya's Chita with Amal on my ring fingers. It's a pine tree green pixie dust and a red matte.

I'm planning to do red nails with a gold glitter ring finger accent tomorrow and then silver with silver glitter on the tips on Christmas eve.....time permitting obviously:laugh:

Well in the end I decided to go with a true red and try one of those glitter ombre tip designs. I don't think it came out too bad for my first attempt at the technique. The red is Gelish Just In Case Tomorrow Never Comes and the glitter is Madam Glam Stardust (I'm obsessed with this polish.) Attachments:

This one's my favorite I think. I haven't been very into nail art lately so I have meager offerings!

I've got a manicure appointment tomorrow and my nails have once again taken a beating as I have been sanding and painting furniture. Spray pained a cupboard white so several nails on my right hand have a unique fine white dot pattern and then on my left hand last night I was playing with glitters to see what I wanted done tomorrow, so one nail is gold and red glitter, one is gold and green and one gold and white.
The gold and green glitter is winning, but can't decide on a base color. Will post mine when I get home tomorrow.

I have a hard time coming up with my own color schemes and ideas for incorporating more than one aspect of nail art. I was considering doing some light grey/snowflake nails but now I wish I had a dark grey polish. These are just so pretty and unique!

My 16yo daughter teases me, but I give myself a pedicure every 2-3 weeks. We live in Indiana, so her argument is no one will see them. I wore open toe shoes last week because of our unseasonably warm weather. I do them for me!
My big toe is a red/silver glitter/green stripe. Next toe is green glitter. Other three toes are red. I love it! I figure some people are freaked out by feet, so no photo.

iamkristinl16 I used a stamping plate for the flakes, done in silver and white, and put a coat of China Glaze Fairy Dust over those nails for added sparkle. I did have a bit of shrinkage at the cuticle there because my top coat needed to be thinned, which annoyed me but I took pics anyway. Don't judge me! Lol Thank you chaosisapony

Oh hell, I just started a separate thread. My bad. Here's what I posted: Debating what color to get when I go to the nail salon tomorrow! I get gel polish and keep it on 14 - 18 days, and with traveling for work, I usually keep it pretty neutral. However, I won't be traveling for work for the next 2 weeks, so I can get whatever I want!! Unfortunately, I'm kind of boring. I don't like my toes and nails to clash too much, and I want my nails to be a versatile enough color they go with all my outfits. I have something similar to Essie Jamaica Me Crazy on my toes right now (sort of a shimmery magenta). I'm thinking maybe a cool silver/grey for my fingernails. What are you going with? What are your personal preferences for toes/fingers/matching outfits? ------ I think I might like to do something like this over a blush color - it would be "out there" for me but I do love sparkle and glitter, and not something I can do most of the year: I guess I can just take some pictures in and show the gals at the salon. I've never asked for anything "special" before.

I'm no help...I couldn't wear the same polish for that long, I'd be dying to change it! But I say do what you like and hang the rest of the world. (well, as long as it meets work dress codes...you know what I mean!)

I just took off A-England She Walks in Beauty. It was party season last week and I wanted something super shiny and fun/glam. You can't see very well here, but there are pink hex glitters as well as the gold. My nails have been bare for a couple of days, as my cuticles needed some tlc, but I'll probably put something on tonight. I'm leaning towards a classic red/green combo but I'm really loving LilyRose 's 'snow' tipped red and am contemplating whether I can recreate it. I have OPI Solitaire which is a sparkly white textured polish, and could make a good snow. Hmmm!

sharlag I know, I hate that! I can't resize the photos on pb from my phone. Sorry, all! iamkristinl16 you can buy stamping products many places online. Amazon comes to mind. I also buy from MoYou, love their plates. You need a squishy stamper, a stamping plate, and polish that stamps well (either special stamping polish, or polishes that tend to be opaque in one coat) along with a scraper (i use old credit cards for that). None of it is very expensive, but it can add up. There's a bit of a learning curve but it's not difficult. If you're interested, Google some tutorials and check out youtube to get an idea of how it works and what stuff you need.

These are Jamberry's Tinsel Poinsettia wraps with a Gold Sparkle accent thrown in. I know it seems like this pic is a Jamberry advertisement, but my consultant sent me the Nourish creme as a prize and asked me to take a pic with it and post it on her FB business page.
