I had to buy a box of 60 mini candy canes and all I needed was about 10. So while I did find some, the options seemed lacking to me.

Go to Michael's. DD and I were just there a couple days ago and they were selling them something like 10 boxes for a dollar or something crazy like that. The regular sized ones! I was tempted to get some, but we have so much candy here already that I passed.

There did seem to be less at the store than usual this year. Come on over, I've got a full box of the minis.

If you're near me it might be my fault. I bought 150 boxes this year.

I couldn't find regular flavored full size ones or mini ones this year. I had to go to 3 different stores.

If you're near me it might be my fault. I bought 150 boxes this year. I split them up to my team and give each of them a bundle to take home with them. I challenge them to carry them with them and treat the cashiers, servers, attendents, etc to a candy cane when the interact with them. They each have a tag on them that has a little note of gratitude. It's a nice way to brighten the workers days and starting an interaction with a stranger is really good for helping the shy girls open up and gain some confidence. They realize interacting with people doesn't have to be scary and then actually have fun talking to people.

Eta: Sorry, language filter has died. Dh has had bronchitis all week and I'm looking forward to yet another night on the twin bed with the dog and two cats.

Because no one actually eats them I've been carefully taking them off the tree and saving them year to year to go on the tree. If someone actually wanted to eat one that would not be a good thing!
I do have a hard time finding regular peppermint though - just flavors and that will not do. I think because people don't put them on their tree like they used to - they make candy bar sleds and hearts and other edible crafts.
Speaking of edible crafts, boo on Target for putting out Valentine's candy and other crap. They could have waited a week.

There must be! I decided to make some peppermint bark at the last minute. I sent DH to the store for some of the ingredients and he said he had a heck of a time finding candy canes.

Fabulous idea- I'm totally stealing for next year!

Target only had one box of peppermint candy canes last night! And they were broken. In fairness though, Target was picked over to the level I have seen it in after Christmas sales at 60% off. I'm not sure if this was good or bad planning on their part. Seems like they are losing sales today, but they aren't having to discount much later in the week.

Yeah, I was at Walmart yesterday and was shocked to see the seasonal aisle totally stocked (all shelves full and not just starting to stock that I have seen sometimes at the end of a holiday) with Valentine's Day stuff!

Oh, and I noticed that most places I went had mostly the other flavor candy canes and not the original peppermint ones. My oldest daughter really loves the regular plain old-fashioned candy canes. It was a trick to find just the regular ones.

I saw plenty of them yesterday at my grocery store yesterday (Randall's). What I'm having trouble finding are red & green M&Ms and mint Hershey's Kisses. I need both for my desserts I'm bringing for Christmas dinner.
