Someone posted earlier this season about looking for a handmade tree skirt, so I, of course, decided I had to make one. I actually am almost finished with this one - I should be by the time we take the tree down this weekend. It is a free crochet pattern by Red Heart. I modified it to crochet the hexagons together as I make them, rather than sewing them all together (yuck!).

Finished the top/back of this quilt! The top is a closer representation of the colors. The back looks like the fabrics are different but they aren't.

Ginger/Ceescraps-- that is gorgeous!!!! I finished a modified Lucy Boston Patches of the Cross (hand pieced using English paper piecing methods and machine quilted on my Handiquilter Sweet Sixteen sitdown) .... Here are front and back pics hopefully! It is about 65 inches wide by 80 in length and if you click on either picture it will go to the larger Pinterest version...I can't figure out any other way to upload them.

I don't have any pictures to share right at the moment but I am making doll clothes for my DGD. My oldest DD had an AG doll, Samantha, and gave it to DGD, Lexi. Lexi wanted another doll for Christmas and the AG dolls are a bit expensive now. So Santa left her a doll from Walmart. I found some super cute Simplicity patterns and lots of patterns and tutorials on Pinterest. I have made about 10 or more dresses/outfits for her dolls so far. I love making doll clothes!! I can buy lots of different fabrics and not spend a lot of money. Most patterns can be make with 1/4 yard or less or re-purpose outgrown clothes of the kids. I just finished a doll quilt that I made from 2.5 inch left over squares. Next will be a sleeping bag and pillow. I think I am having more fun than DGD is. LOL!!
I bought some Dr. Who fabric from Ebay and will be making my youngest DD a tote bag from it. Then I will start on quilts for my DGD and two SIL's.

I don't have any pics either, but I made my DD a long flannel peasant type nightgown with gingerbread man print flannel for Christmas. She loved it! I made matching pj pants out of the same fabric.

My youngest in her new dress . The dress is cute, as is the model! I think the phrase, "I could totally eat her up" applies here. She's too adorable!

I don't have any pics right now either, but I made Dr. Who pillows for my niece, nephew and BIL. they were all different, and each had a different fabric on the front and back. They were a huge hit, and my niece is plotting how to get her hands on the other ones.

CeeScraps - love your quilts! I'm curious how you plan to quilt the brown one. I'm working on a similar one and can't decide how to quilt it GyspyGirl I haven't a clue how to tag you......So I thought if I'd quote you! Thanks.....I'm trying to find unusual patterns to make. The black and white I had to cut the fabric at different angles and widths. The brown one I had to stack the fabrics, cut, move a top piece to the bottom, then add the narrow strip. The brown one I'm using pattern that looks kinda like logs. I don't recall the name of it. I thought that would soften it a little, but still look masculine as this one is for a very good friend of mine.

Gale W,
Love your bionic gear bags!! I bought the pattern a while ago and really need to make one. Are they easy for an experienced sewer? And thanks for the links to the other bags!! The ones you made are so cute!!

The ones you made are so cute!! They're pretty easy but at one point, when putting the binding on, the seams are really thick. I had trouble with my machine skipping seams but it helped to use a denim needle and go really slowly.

Not a great picture, but the "almost complete" top of my "Winter Pines" quilt I'm making. Need to fix a couple "oops", and put the borders on still, then quilt, then bind. Should be ready for next Christmas - haha Also: this fabric is the Basic Grey, Moda, Fruitcake line! Which is fun to cross over my scrapbooking lines with fabric lines!!! Attachments:

FWIW, my tree skirt is actually done, even though I actually made it larger than the pattern. I'm just weaving in all the ends now - my least favorite part!

My youngest in her new dress . Ok we need a time management book for Pea self help. In the last year you had your fifth baby, worked as a law professor, had a Bar/Bat mitzval (son i think??), you run a household, have a marriage and you don't have a staff working for you? You had time to knit that jumper? It's beautiful!!! It looks complicated ad OMG. Write a book! How to keep an ordinary to extraordinary life organized in 10 easy steps. Also Stay Motivated could be your second book.

Wow wow wow you are some talented ladies. No pics from me either. I made doll clothes for my niece's American Girl Doll for Christmas. Her birthday is Dec 22, so for that I made her a bunny doll with a dress and then made an apron for each month of the year. I also made the bunny a nightgown from the remains of my mom's nightgown and a robe from my old flannel pyjama bottoms. I have also been making the same niece skirts for school. She is in Kindergarten and gets to wear what she wants, but next year and from there on out she will be in a uniform. I used the same fabric for my niece's skirts as I did for the AGD. She loved it all. I also made a pair of Family Guy pyjama bottoms for my son's best friend - thank you compwalla for your pyjama bottoms pattern from years ago. J
