Here is the latest piece I'm working on: Guess what new tool I'm using? My new IPad Pro with an Apple Pencil! The coloring apps are amazing. It was my big main present this holiday season, and I am loving using it for coloring.

I got this present because of my eyesight difficulties, I was SO pleased to find out that it works wonderfully for coloring. Just like regular coloring, but more portable.

Hey thats cool!
So this is probably a sill question - but using the Apple pencil, does it let you get out of lines?

In this app, you can click on the section by tapping on it with the pencil and you can't color outside of the lines - great for those who are paranoid about that. But, you can also just color without tapping the section and that lets you put down color wherever, including outside of the lines, your choice!

I would be paranoid and need it to stay inside the lines!

Wow, that's pretty cool! I assume you can get the apps on any iPad, it doesn't have to be an iPad Pro?

I would be paranoid and need it to stay inside the lines! You can zoom and make sections as large as you want by using the thumb and finger expand gesture. So, no worrying about teeny tiny sections. Great for those of us who are becoming vision challenged. And you can rotate the picture while you color, rather than rotate the surface.

And it actually registers whether you use the point of the pencil or tilt it for shading. You wouldn't get the same amount of detail or control with your finger.

I use a stylus on the regular iPad.

Does the pencil give you that tactile feedback that you get from actually coloring on paper? I think that is what I would miss. Although I like the idea of being able to enlarge it to get into the tiny spaces and being able to color in low light.

So, it won't completely replace my colored pencils, markers and paper. But, it is a great alternative for doing in public places, like waiting at the doctor's office, or the pharmacy, or while waiting for the kids. The enlarging feature IS really nice.
